Birthday Week!
What an eventful week we had last week – birthday week! Our Sunday kicked off with a huge birthday party for Amelie, she’s never had a proper party before so we did it in style. We hired a hall, booked a disco, booked our local fish & chip shop to cater for us and I went to town on glo sticks, balloons, cakes and party cones. Amelie had a fantastic time with all her friends, I think we had around 26 children in total. It was so much fun but I think next year we will spend the money on a weekend away maybe, something more low key and less hectic!…

Prestige Flowers Luxury Valentine’s Day Range – Review
I love flowers and like any lady love receiving flowers, however I rarely get bought any. So when Prestige Flowers kindly sent me a beautiful bouquet from their luxury range I was very excited. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and you may be thinking of gifts for a loved one, you can’t go wrong with vibrant red roses. They are the ultimate Valentine’s flower for me especially when they are delivered with delicious Belgium Chocolate Truffles – the perfect combination. Prestige Flowers offers next day delivery if you order before 9pm, which is really useful if you don’t have the option to order during working hours. Unfortunately I was…

Coping with Croup
Before I had children I had never heard of Croup, in fact I hadn’t experienced it as a mother until Amelie was around 22 months old. Croup is a condition that affects the windpipe, the voice box and airways to the lungs. When children get croup they have a distinctive barking cough that sounds a bit like a seal, they make an awful sound when they breathe in and out as their little airway is blocked, also their voice tends to sound very horse. The first time Amelie had croup I was terrified, I had read up on how to spot meningitis, sepsis, mumps, chicken pox etc but croup does…

Caketoppers Personalised Cupcakes – Review
Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Wednesdays, it really doesn’t matter – I love cake on any occasion. So I was very excited to be sent a couple of fantastic personalised cupcakes to review. As it was Amelie’s 5th birthday this week I thought what better way to celebrate than with personalised birthday cupcakes, what 5 year old wouldn’t love a cake with their face on it on their big day? The company Caketoppers specialises in cakes, cupcakes and printed icing edible toppers. You can personalise them with your photo, logo or message and can choose from chocolate cake or classic sponge cake. Both of which are absolutely delicious! My children are fussy with…

Amelie’s Birth Story
It’s been 84 years… (Titanic reference, sorry but that still makes me giggle), just kidding although that’s what it felt like. It was Saturday 21st January 2012, I was overdue by 8 days, I woke up around 7.30am with back ache and tummy cramps. Being pregnant for the first time I had read all the books out there, attended antenatal classes and spoken to friends with children but still didn’t have a clue if I was in labour or not. So I got up as usual, the aches didn’t subside so we headed out for a McDonald’s breakfast (classy), by the time we got home the pain was getting worse…

Winter Sea Air
Today was a miserable drizzly day in Exmouth and I did not want to leave the house. However, I have an active two year old who I feel, needs fresh air every day. So I decided to get the waterproofs out of the cupboard along with wellies and hats and venture to the Exmouth beach for some fresh sea air. We are super lucky to live so close to the beach and I always used to take Amelie for a stroll when she was little. I do prefer the beach during the warmer months but there’s something about being all wrapped up for a winter’s walk. As a family we…

Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup – My Thoughts
During the whole 5 years of being a mum I have struggled with one major issue – finding a sippy cup that does not leak! I have tried every sippy cup/bottle on the market I think. I know I am not alone in this never ending search as it is probably the most talked about subject between any group of mums. I have however, found the miracle cup that is completely leak-proof and really wanted to share this with you. The Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup is a god send, although I don’t have babies or toddlers anymore, I have one nearing preschool age and one in reception. My children always…

Throw Back Thursday
As Amelie’s 5th birthday is just days away I’m feeling a bit emosh, I’m one of those sad mums that looks back through photos of her children when they have gone to bed. It never gets old and it is one of my favourite things to do, I cannot believe how quick time flies. I thought I would share some photos of my little girl as a throw back Thursday post, I hope you like them…

Kayla Itsines 12 Week Bikini Body Guide – My Thoughts
Being a stay at home mum of 2 young children my time is dedicated to them. My day revolves around school runs, errands, housework and playgroups. Ever since Amelie was born I had started working out seriously at home. In the last five years I have started at the bottom and worked my fitness levels up to where I am today – Kayla Itsines 12 Week Bikini Body Guide (BBG). I know many mums go to the gym or to classes but for me that doesn’t work or suit my routine. I used to go to a gym and also to a few classes, my favourite were body balance and…

My Week – Chit Chat
The one thing I really love about blogging is that you are able to get everything you’ve been thinking off your chest and it is not aimed at anyone in particular. I know most people will find my chit chat boring and I know it isn’t really relevant whatsoever but having this window of white to type whatever you like feels liberating, a bit like therapy. Being a stay at home mum to a young child can be at times, lonely. I know I have this wonderful little person keeping me company all the time but he’s not really interested in hearing about grown up things and just general waffle that I’m…
