Days Out In Devon – World Of Country Life, Exmouth
World of Country Life is an all round family fun day out for all ages and stages. I live about a 5 minute drive from the attraction which is situated right next door to a Haven – Devon Cliffs – so is perfect for holiday makers who are visiting Exmouth. Both of my children love going to World of Country Life and we have bought an annual pass which runs out in July, I will certainly be renewing it as it is a perfect place to visit if the children need to burn off some energy. There are 3 soft play areas to choose from, one for under 12s, one…

What Mummy Eats In A Day
Just a little insight into what I eat in a day, I don’t eat like this every day. I’m under the weather at the moment with a silly head cold so I’m not particularly hungry and when I am, I quite like picky food. Breakfast This granola is by far the best I’ve tasted, it is organic and has yummy yogurt chunks in it with strawberries and blueberries. It tastes amazing with natural yogurt mixed into it. Charlie had the same for breakfast today, he is also a fan of this combo. Lunch Today I had an early lunch at 11am as I was going to meet a friend for…

Half Term Adventures in Devon
Half term has been and gone and whilst I’m sad it is over so quickly I’m also glad to have a wee bit of routine back in our lives. I was getting far too used to lazy mornings and days out, but it will soon be the Easter holidays before we know it. Our week was full of snow flurries, visits to Exmouth beach where Charlie fell in the biggest puddle on the sand face first and proceeded to scream, we celebrated Valentine’s Day, I took the children to World of Country Life (I’m doing a whole blog post on this), we caught up with friends and we had a…

Learning To Accept Things – A Personal Post
This is a personal post about trying to accept things the way they are and working on changing the things in my life that I’m not happy with. I’m 5ft dead on the nose, my height doesn’t bother me I’m quite pleased I’m a shortie with little feet. My height bothers other people though, when I say people I mean women. Throughout my adult life I have come across and still do, women who like to belittle me about my height “aren’t you tiny!?” “you look really short today” “you make me feel like a giant”… I could go on all day with the lovely comments I’ve received. What I…

All The Feels
I have all the feels today, we have just returned from The World of Country Life which is a 3 minute drive from our house. The children had a fab morning and I actually enjoyed sitting in the cold watching Amelie and Charlie race round the bouncy castle, soft play and the pirate ship. I can’t believe how much both of them have grown, they have been the best of friends this half term and have absolutely loved each other which makes life a little easier when they are getting on. They are going to find it hard next week when normality returns with half term being over, this week…

Slow Cooker Sweet Baked Potatoes
Sweet potatoes cooked in a slow cooker? Sounds vile but tastes amazing, I had visions of the potatoes turning into a soggy mess or not cooking at all just sticking to the bottom of the pot. Here’s my how-to… My slow cooker could only fit 2 quite large sweet potatoes in but I know some slow cookers can fit up to 4. I started by washing the potatoes in warm water but not drying them – this is the key to cooking them in the slow cooker, as they do not need any more water added to the pot. I then put them directly into the pot, I was worried…

Eats and Exercise
This week’s eats and exercise is here, I have strayed from the Lean in 15 books as of late and feel completely lost without them so, I’m using them this week. I thought I would share what I’m having for breakfast and lunch also this week. I’m trying to drink a litre of water a day, this doesn’t sound a lot but for me it is as I’m so rubbish at drinking water. Exercise wise, I bought a new kettlebell and have been loving it. I feel super achy the day after a workout and really enjoy working different areas with heavier weights. MEAL PLAN MONDAY Breakfast: Weetabix Lunch:…

Naff Off Winter
I have always loved the colder months, you get to wrap up in snuggly scarves, big chunky knit jumpers and trendy boots. However, I have come to realise that in fact I am not really a fan of winter after Christmas. All year I look forward to September when the children go back to school that signifies, for me, the start of the build up to Christmas. I love Autumn the best, getting excited for Halloween/bonfire night, the leaves turning that gorgeous burnt orange/red colour and the colder crisper days/nights. I love having a cosy home, decked out with scented candles, soft lighting and fluffy blankets, plus the heating turned…

January Favourites – Children’s Edition
We are a few days into February but I wanted to share the children’s January Favourites. I have selected a mixture of products, toys, books and foods that both Amelie and Charlie have been loving during the month of January. Toiletries The children were given these foaming soaps for Christmas from my mum, they are by different companies though. The Crazy Soap is by a company called Kids Stuff and is amazing. To be honest when I saw these foam soaps I thought they would be watery rubbish that brought the children out in a rash, however I was so wrong. The foam is really thick, you can mold it…
