Stepping Back into Real Life
What a beautiful weekend we are having! I’m so happy the sun has made a return it makes life so much brighter doesn’t it. I absolutely love blogging and recording events in my life but I do get overwhelmed by stats, followers, tweets, Instagram posts, Facebook statuses etc. I find myself getting swallowed up by social media and sometimes feel very suffocated and often inadequate, if you blog or vlog you will certainly understand what I mean. Mr K has a week off work and it is the last week of the summer holidays next week, I’m gutted the children have to return to school as, even though they’ve bickered…

Bigjigs Medieval Train Set – Review
What little child doesn’t love a wooden train set? When the Bigjigs Medieval Train Set arrived for us to review both Amelie and Charlie were squealing with excitement begging me to unbox the surprise inside. The Medieval Train Set comes complete with everything you could possibly want for an adventure – 46 play pieces to be exact. Each individually wrapped in paper and packaged so well that when my children were opening it all up they said it was like Christmas. There were Knights, a King, a Queen, a Wizard, trees, flags and so many more pieces that had excellent attention to detail, I particularly liked the fact that on…

My Second C-Section and Recovery
My Second C-Section As this was an elective section I had to go into hospital the day before for pre-ops. This included weighing me, checking meĀ and the baby over, a pre-op drink that I had to drink the morning of my section and a time was given for the operation. It was an odd feeling dropping Amelie off with my mum early in the morning, driving to the hospital and putting on a sexy hospital gown – oh and the stockings! Those stockings had to stay on for 2 days. Once I was in hospital it was a waiting game, there was an emergency before me so I walked down…

Autumn in August?
I know everyone is moaning about the weather but seriously is it autumn in August? It doesn’t feel right donning my Chelsea boots, check shirt and jacket, I love this attire but not during summer. We had plans to visit Haldon Forest today and go to the Orange Elephant for ice creams and a stroll through the meadow but we had to abandon these grand plans due to the rain. We opted to go to Sidmouth for some lunch, we went to the Anchor Inn which was cosy and welcoming the staff were excellent and so was the food. After lunch we popped into the sweet shop where the children…

My First C-Section and Recovery
When I was pregnant the first time a c-section wasn’t even a thought for me, I had planned on a natural birth and thought that is how it would pan out. Unfortunately I did end up with a c-section, it was the only way to get my baby out and that is what had to happen, although I have to admit after being in pain for days I was so relieved I didn’t have to push a baby out. As my hips are too small to give birth naturally I had an elective section the second time around – two very different experiences and two very different recoveries. My First…

Organix Punk’D Oaty Bars
Whether it be taking a trip to the supermarket 2 minutes up the road, a day trip somewhere or just indoors, my children are always starving. Going out of the house for me, is like packing to feed the 5000, there’s drinks, fruit, sandwiches, crackers and extra supplies just in case – I’m prepared for every scenario possible. However, I do try to make healthy choices when it comes to snacks as both Amelie and Charlie love to snack but I do not want to be filling their tummies with sugary treats all the time. We have been fans of Organix products ever since the weaning days, I remember giving…

Shifting The Holiday Weight & What I Ate
First off I want to start by saying I’m not an expert and don’t pretend to be, I’m sharing my experience and what has worked for me. So I went to Majorca in May, it was an all inclusive holiday. Everyone puts on holiday weight and I certainly wasn’t restricting my diet whilst away, after all it was a holiday and I wanted to enjoy myself – and I did. I did try to make healthy choices throughout my time away but as the week went on I was sneaking in a dessert and extra snacks that I wouldn’t normally have. By the second week of my holiday I was…

Homemade Chicken Kebabs
Lets face it summer in Devon has well and truly packed its bags and buggered off, I had dreams of topping up my tan, the kids playing in the paddling pool and Mr K cooking something scrummy on the BBQ – the reality is somewhat different. However, I wasn’t going to let a little bit of rain dampen my BBQ dream so I rustled up some homemade chicken kebabs for us to enjoy indoors. The Recipe 4 Chicken Breasts 1 Pepper 1 Onion Mushrooms 170g Greek Yogurt 2 tsp Smoked Paprika (to taste) 6 Kebab Sticks Method Mix the Greek yogurt and paprika in a bowl and set aside. Cut…
