    Raw, Honest Motherhood

I’m sat on the bed with my poorly little boy who is full of a cold and chesty cough (still), the rain is pouring down and my clothes are soaked through. Monday again, how quick do the weekends go? I prefer the run up to Christmas (October, November, December) much more than the actual day, so I love cosy weekends spent as a family or with friends. There aren’t many weekends left to savour the magic before it all comes to an end for another year. Our Sunday started well we were all in good spirits so we headed to Aldi for a food shop, the children were well behaved…

    Adult Advent Calendar Guide 2017

Advent calendars have come a long way since the days of cheap chocolate, although I did like the ones with little pictures behind the cardboard door. As an adult I stopped buying myself an advent calendar years ago, but always feel a little bit left out when the children open theirs in the morning. I love the idea of going all out during the festive season and why shouldn’t us parents/adults have a treat to wake up to. I was so pleased to see a whole host of advent calendars on the market especially designed for adults ranging from beauty, perfumes, candles and luxury chocolates. There are some fab ones on offer…

    My Sensory Crate Subscription Box

Buying presents at Christmas is an overwhelming experience for anyone, did you pick the right toy, will they like it, did you buy enough presents? But, buying presents for an autistic child or a child who has a sensory processing disorder is another experience, my brother and nephew are both autistic and I find shopping for them so difficult as I want to get them something special and thoughtful as well as fun for them. I also worry that they will be overwhelmed with too many gifts at once and worry I may pick up the wrong thing so I usually end up giving them money for Christmas or their birthdays.…

    Mum’s Christmas Wishlist

Christmas in our house is all geared towards the children from the decorations, lights, activities and of course presents. Mr K and I don’t really buy each other a great deal as we would rather put the money towards either a date night, a family day out or another present for the children, I just love seeing their happy faces on Christmas morning when they open that one gift they have been asking for. I do have a list of gifts that I would love to receive and have put them into a Wishlist to maybe give you some ideas as to what a mum would like to receive this…

    Grocery Shopping Budget – Aldi

Grocery shopping is the one thing that I struggle with balancing. Up until recently our food shopping bill was creeping up to near £200 a week – shocking! We were wasting food, making daily trips to Tesco and spending far too much. The thing about Tesco is, I went in for a few essentials and came out £50 lighter every time as I was picking up things that were not necessary and were on offer. I got sucked into ‘oh that’s a good deal, I’ll pick it up’ and before I knew it I had a trolley full of crap. Even though I plan our meals I don’t plan for…

    Life Lately – Chit Chat

I feel like I haven’t published a post of general ramblings in so long, this is the time I wish I was a youtuber just having a chat with the camera. But, I’m not that confident and cringe whenever I hear my voice on video – yuk! How are you all? I hope everyone is well and have escaped any germs going around. My children have brought home every single virus, bug and infection going in the last 5 weeks, we’ve had numerous trips to Devon Doctors and A&E, antibiotics and around 5 bottles of calpol consumed. Amelie has had time off school due to this and obviously school got a…

What I Eat in a Day

Since being ill a few weeks ago and totally losing my appetite for what felt like forever, I’m slowly starting to eat proper meals again. Here is what I on Tuesday. Not every day is this carby, some days all I can manage is fruit and my dinner but I was hungry on this day as I had worked out. Breakfast – 8:00am I have never been a fan of porridge, the texture made me feel sick and it tasted either too sweet or like cardboard. I saw Moma Porridge on offer in Tesco so thought I would give it a go. It is gluten free and made with wholegrain oats,…

Children’s Christmas Stocking Fillers Gift Guide 2017

When I was little I absolutely loved getting a Christmas stocking. Waking up and hearing the rustling of the wrapping paper at the end of my bed, knowing there were lots of goodies from Father Christmas waiting for me was beyond exciting. I wasn’t so keen on the Satsuma that had been left though and that always ended up back in the fruit bowl. Now I am the mum I get very giddy about organising the Christmas stocking and searching for unique little presents for my children. So, I’m going to share a few lovely gift ideas that I have found recently. English Tea Shop Young at Heart Christmas Tea My…
