    Top Winter Skincare Products

The temperature has well and truly dropped, my skin is suffering somewhat. I had a massive pamper session yesterday and have for once in my life gone fake tan free as my skin just looked crusty and dull. I’ve really upped my water intake in the last 3 or more months but I have to say, I’ve not noticed a difference in how my skin looks or feels. Here are my top skincare products I’ve been using to help combat a dull winter complexion. Nip + Fab Exfoliate I absolutely love Nip + Fab products and have used them for years. I saw this moisturiser in Superdrug and thought I’d…

Top Tips – How I Started Working Out At Home

Way back in the day of clubbing, binge eating crap and doing minimal exercise health and fitness was not on my radar. Over the years my mindset has evolved and I am now in a really good place with consistently working out and eating the right foods for my body. So how did I start working out at home? The first real workout I undertook was Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I’d dabbled with Hannah Waterman, Clair Nazir and other pointless celebrity “workout” dvds, going to body balance and a few spin classes. But it was Jillian Michaels that really kick started my passion for at home workouts. I had…

    Co-Sleeping, Our Experience

We didn’t choose co-sleeping it chose us. Being a first time pregnant lady you are met with the dos and don’ts before your beautiful bundle arrives and co-sleeping was at the top of the “AVOID” list. 7 years ago when I had Amelie I only just started to follow fellow mummies on social media therefore resources were different and products that you have now were not around. We went with a typical moses basket that was handed down from my sister, we also bought a cot/bed and were given a crib to borrow. All fantastic pieces of equipment, what more could you need? Fast forward to when you bring baby…

    What I Ate For Dinner

I haven’t published a food related post in ages so I thought I would show you what I’ve been eating for dinner. Monday Today I scrambled 2 eggs in a non-stick pan and served with 2 turkey rashers. It doesn’t look like much but it was really filling, I love this type of dinner as it requires minimal effort. Tuesday Grilled chicken breast topped with chilli flakes, a whole red pepper, cherry tomatoes and cucumber sticks. A fresh and healthy tea, again no effort as Tuesday’s are a busy night with after school clubs. Wednesday I bought some chicken tikka breasts from Asda, grilled them and put a small slab…

    The Forbidden Word… Cellulite!!

I have wanted to write this post for the longest time but I feel slightly apprehensive about posting it as I’m not sure how this is going to come across. It is not a poor me, woe is me, feel sorry for me post it is a really honest account of body image. It all started from my experience in Primark today. I went to try on some jeans – a size 6 which is very small I know, in fact they were too big. Getting changed in those horrible lights with a billion mirrors pointing at every single angle of my body was terrifying. I thought I was looking…

A Mother’s Instinct is Always Right – My Boy Needs Glasses

Sunday 6th January 2019 was a big day in our household. About a week before, Charlie mentioned everything looked fuzzy to him and he was getting pain in his head. I, like all mums said ‘lets give you some calpol’ and hoped it would clear up, he did have a head cold and crusty eyes. Which I thought was conjunctivitis. However, as the week progressed he was still complaining of fuzzy eyes, something didn’t sit right with me so I booked an appointment with Specsavers. I’m definitely one of those paranoid mothers who worries constantly when one of the children isn’t well or they say something hurts. He had never…

    Dry January?

Dry January?? We are all familiar with the phrase and yet it screams restriction – cold turkey! I for one certainly indulged on the booze over the festive period but I didn’t sit in a chair on my own drinking from a bottle. I enjoyed a glass (or 4) of fizz during social gatherings, parties, Christmas day celebrations and out for dinner. I thought about partaking in Dry January and then came to my senses. Why is it that we have to restrict ourselves during January:- No spending No eating rubbish No drinking alcohol Why should we have to give up the things that make us happy? I don’t associate…

Back to Life, Back to Reality

January 7th – back to school runs, mum life (not that I got a break over Christmas, let’s be honest) and cracking on with the New Year. I’m a bit funny with New Year, it doesn’t officially start for me until the children have returned to school, it just doesn’t feel right. So we finished off the festivities last night with a couple of glasses of red and a takeaway. As of today it is back to normality, routine, eating well and sticking to a budget. Everyone hates January, the magic of Christmas is a distant memory and there’s nothing exciting to look forward to. For me however, I love…
