    September Favourites

I’ve not published a monthly favourites post in forever, I have so many things I’ve been loving recently so I will share my top faves with you. LOVE LEGGINGS I swore I would never wear leggings again in my life after living in them during both pregnancies – I wanted to burn them by the end. However, I received a pair of Love Leggings for Mother’s Day (*previously gifted*) and I am obsessed! They are the most comfortable, softest leggings ever. The quality is amazing, none of this see-through to your big pants business, they are thick, do not go all baggy plus they are high waisted so suck that…

    Slowing Down

It feels like life has been all over the place just lately, hectic weeks roll into busy weekends. It is so fast paced I can hardly catch a breath, I feel I am just existing and not living. With the change of the seasons today I feel new beginnings are on the horizon and I am making a conscious effort to slow down the pace. Now the summer holidays are over, Mr K has completed his stint of working abroad and school life is settling down a bit I feel I can start to regain some much needed quality time with the family. I am sure I’m not the only…

    Gymxiety – It’s a Thing!!

As the title suggests, Gymxiety – anxiety about going to the gym. I know to some it sounds utterly ridiculous to be nervous/scared or feel like you are going to have a panic attack about walking into a gym to work out, after all what is there to feel nervous about? But for lots of people, myself included it is a massive challenge to step into the unknown territory of a gym. I suffer with all kinds of anxiety – social, health, everyday life – so to step completely out of my comfort zone and join a gym was a huge deal for me and I was extremely proud of…

End of Summer Circus Party with Luxella Sleepovers

Sleepovers have come a long way since I was a child. Whenever I was invited to a sleepover it usually involved taking my very old and very thing nylon brown sleeping bag, a change of clothes and loads of snacks for those midnight feasts. We would camp out on my friend’s front room floor with a cushion from their sofa, watch 80s movies, drink copious amounts of cherryade, stomp crisps into the carpet and eventually fall asleep. Nowadays there is a whole new platform for the Sleepover, something a little more comfortable and luxurious. As the summer holidays were coming to an end I wanted to celebrate and give the…

    Monster Mum

Monster mum arrives once a month. She suddenly sneaks up on me and the entire family take cover (I don’t blame them). The daily goings on of monster mum are different from one day to the next, she starts by feeling a little prickly, a bit annoyed and not quite right. By day 3 she’s in full on rage/shouty mum mode and nothing can make her happy – even other people breathing irritates the crap out of her, making her want to run away and hide in a cave. There are various symptoms of Monster Mum:- Fatigue Crying for no reason Feeling extremely sad and low for no reason Monster…

What Mama Wore – Outfit Ideas

Hello September and hello cosy knitwear! I have been waiting for the air to chill a bit, the nights to start drawing in that little bit earlier and to dig out my Autumn wardrobe. Now I know it isn’t “officially” Autumn until nearly the end of the month but I don’t really care what anyone says, September is Autumn for me. We have had some cracking weather of late mixed with some proper chilly days, I do find the transition into the next season challenging sometimes but I thought I’d give you a peek at what I have been wearing recently – a look book if you will. OUTFITS Camel…

Zizzi Italian Restaurant – Gluten Free Menu

Continuing my search for a good gluten/dairy free menu we recently had a lunch date as a family in Zizzi. Zizzi is an Italian restaurant with over 160 branches in the UK and Ireland. They serve an extensive range of authentic pizzas, pasta, meat skewers and delicious desserts. I have visited Zizzi many times and always opted for the calzone (literally the BEST) but now I have dietary needs this is completely off limits for me and I am devastated about this. But not to be discouraged I still went into the restaurant with an open mind. The branch we stopped off at was in Taunton, it is such a…

    Appreciating Our Time Again

The summer holidays are over and my children are back to school today. I was a mixed bag of emotions but managed to hold it together. I mentioned in a previous post that last year the summer holidays were utterly wonderful and that’s not a lie, yes it came with the usual stresses but I really enjoyed my time with the children. This summer has been extremely challenging and I’ve not really enjoyed every second of it, that is quite hard to admit out loud as I feel like others will judge. Both children are obviously a year older and with that comes different phases for them. Week one of…

    Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!! No, I am not confused and thinking it is January 1st. The end of the summer holidays signifies a brand fresh new start for me, even more so than the beginning of the year. We’ve had a long hot (very rainy at times) summer and it has been absolutely fantastic to share all that time off with our littles. I’m not going to sugar coat this and pretend that it has all been rainbows and fairy sprinkles. This summer for me, has been the most challenging in so many ways. With each summer that rolls round our children are that little bit older, are in completely different…
