A Sunday Well Spent… In Lockdown
A Sunday well spent brings a week of content – well, lets hope so because we are back to home schooling! How was your half term? Our week went by so quickly, I spent most of it poorly. I did have a Covid test and thankfully it was negative, still worrying though. I know I speak for most of us when I say life is pretty suffocating right now. In all the time, raining outside, zero motivation to do anything remotely productive and we just want normal life to resume. We HAD to get out of the house on Sunday, the kids were like caged animals jumping on my sofas,…

Galentine’s Day Gifts
Valentine’s Day has been given a whole new meaning over the past couple of years, we now have Galentine’s Day. Not just for couples, we now celebrate our girl friends, sisters, mothers and anyone else who is close to our hearts. Not to leave anyone out I’ve found some amazing gifts for your girls this Galentine’s Day. Loungewear is all we are seeing right now, and why not. We are in a national lockdown, spending all our days pottering about the house – we need comfort right!? From fluffy slippers to oversized joggers and of course a good old mug thrown in, these treats are perfect for gifting to…

What I’ve Been Wearing This Winter/Lockdown
Well hello!! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything on my blog and that makes me so sad, but you know how it has been! Most days I’m just surviving, like so many of us juggling home learning, being a mum, staying on top of the house/chores and running a little few side projects. Anyway, I really wanted to publish a light hearted post, so thought I would share some outfits. I realise we are mid way through a national lockdown but it is still nice to get dressed and put your face on. Here are some of my most worn outfits of Winter, I am of course,…

Top Home & Cleaning Essentials
I have always enjoyed cleaning and freshening up the house. Even before the children arrived I would love nothing more than finishing work on a Friday, getting home to blitz the Cottage, Flat or Bungalow I was living in. Starting the weekend with a fresh clean home, candles burning and that proper clean smell – all cosy! Over the years I have found various cleaning and home essentials, products have come on so far from the days of the house smelling of bleach. We have fancy disinfectants, toilet cleaners which aren’t that awful pine smell, the launch of wax burners and a whole empire of cleaning addicts on Instagram (myself…

Days Out With Kids: Bear Town, Devon
I realise we have just gone into Lockdown 3 and are homebound, but I really wanted to share a fantastic little gem we visited just before Christmas – Bear Town. Amelie and Charlie received some money from my Mum for Christmas and instead of wasting it on another slime kit or plastic toy, we decided to book them into Bear Town which is located between Exeter and Cullompton in Devon. Bear Town is situated on the same site as the ever famous Bear Trail (which we are absolutely visiting when Lockdown is over). Bear Town is a fantastic and unique role play adventure town for children aged between 1 –…

Children’s Stocking Filler Ideas 2020
The second Christmassy gift ideas post for you. This time is stocking fillers, possibly my favourite bunch of gifts to put together as receiving a stocking is so special when you are little. As things are a little restricted still, I have just been picking most of these bits and bobs up during my trips to the supermarket. The thought of going round all the shops even when everything was “normal” always fills me with dread, so I mainly shop online for Christmas presents. Here are some of the gifts I have bought my children this year. HOT WHEELS I couldn’t put together a gift guide without mentioning Hot Wheels…

Easy Peasy Chocolate Chip Shortbread Lockdown Cookies
With everyone back in lockdown what else is there to do apart from bake cookies! Although technically, we are on the last day of lockdown today. We had a full on day of cooking last Saturday, we made stew, roast potatoes, the kiddies made their lunch and of course we baked some delicious chocolate chip shortbread cookies. These are not gluten free, but can certainly be adapted to become a gluten free treat just by swapping out regular flour for a GF version. What you will need:- 200g Plain Flour 130g Unsalted Butter 35g Caster Sugar 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract 1 Egg 1 Bag of Chocolate Chips Sprinkles for decorating…

Christmas Gifts – Children’s Favourites
I cannot remember the last time I posted a monthly favourites post. I was looking back through archived blog posts recently and forgot how much I loved writing about what the children were loving. So I thought I’d bring back the monthly faves, starting with Amelie and Charlie’s list. I also thought as we are on the Christmas countdown, some of these items may give inspiration for presents. MUD KITCHEN We had the most amazing Spring/Summer weather here in the UK this year. Yes, everything else was (and still is) up in arms but Mother Nature truly spoilt us. My children lived outside for the majority of the time, playing…

Sealife Weymouth #Ascarium
Sealife Weymouth has been on our “To Visit” list for ages. We’ve holidayed in Dorset each October half term ever since Amelie was a toddler. There’s just something about the Dorset coastline that really appeals and I just love the area during Autumn. It just so happened that we were in Weymouth on Halloween this year. Sealife Weymouth very kindly invited us to experience a spooky #Ascarium Halloween trail. We have been to a few Aquariums in our time, the biggest being Plymouth. But Sealife Weymouth is so much more than just tanks of fishes. It has everything to keep the children entertained no matter what the unpredictable weather is…

How To: Gluten & Dairy Free Gooey Chocolate Chunk Cookies
Who doesn’t love a gooey chocolate chunk cookie washed down with a hot cuppa tea!? After being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease the option for me to scoff my face with those delicious supermarket cookies was non existent and to be honest I was devastated. I have been trying to bake our own sweet treats and reaching less for the shop bought version as some of the gluten free options are loaded with sweeteners which really irritate my tummy. If you are looking for a cookie that is gooey on the inside yet a little crisp on the outer layer then I have just the recipe for you. GLUTEN AND DAIRY…
