Homemade Roasted Spicy Chickpeas

Easy Roasted Spicy Chickpeas

This is possibly the easiest snack to make. I really love adding nuts and chickpeas to my meals for extra protein and crunch. However, buying tiny packets of roasted chickpeas can become quite expensive. So I took it on-board to make them myself and they turned out just perfectly.


1 x can Chickpeas
Spices of your choice – I chose; Curry Powder/Smoked Paprika/Crushed Chillies
Oil for coating of your choice – I used Coconut Oil
Baking Tray
Grease Proof Paper


First you want to start by pre heating the oven at 220 degrees (electric fan oven).

Open your chickpeas and drain in a colander, give them a good shake and set to one side.

Line your oven proof dish or baking tray with the grease proof paper to prevent the chickpeas from sticking to the bottom.

Pour the chickpeas onto the tray and spread out evenly, pop them in the oven for around 30 minutes.

Checking and shaking them every 10 minutes.

Once they are nice and crispy pour them into a bowl and add your oil, give them a good mix ensuring they are well coated with the oil – not dripping in it though!

Next, add the spices of your choice and mix well. Transfer into a jar or container for storing.

You can enjoy the deliciousness either as a stand alone snack, add them to a salad or mix them with some roasted cashews, fruits or nuts of your choice – yum!!
