With schools closed, lockdown and Easter holidays coming up, Playmobil is even more relevant than ever. A timeless activity to challenge children’s imaginations, learn through play, create, role play scenarios, interact and to have fun.
Playmobil have launched a brand new City Life range which will entice your littles to play for hours. We were very lucky to be asked to review the new sets, here is what we thought.
I don’t know if Playmobil have had a sleek makeover but assembling the playsets has never been easier. I have mentioned in the past that I found a few sets to be a little tricky to put together, not impossible just fiddley. However, the new range is just fantastic, extremely easy to connect, also pull apart if you put something on the wrong way (yes, I have done that on many occasion) and just feels more robust.
The attention to detail has also been ramped up in my opinion. There are sheets of decorative stickers for children to use when building houses and shops, I think this is a great idea to give children more choice and to put their own stamp on things. Although if you are like me (a control freak) I found it hard watching them stick stickers onto the walls all wonky and not in a neat fashion, but that is how they learn and make up their own minds.
So what is included in this brand sparkly new range? Well, there is a fantastic Florist, a Fashion shop, a Café/Bakery and a gorgeous Town House complete with little solar panels on the roof – cute! Once all of the shops and houses have been completed they make a really lovely city street. This range is possibly one of my favourites just because of the added extras, vibrant colours and endless possibilities.
As always, my children get stuck in when playing with Playmobil they absolutely love it! Charlie is quite the pro when it comes to putting it all together. I couldn’t quite believe all the extras that come with the sets, little handbags, flowers, cakes, fashion accessories and so much more. I really need a good storage solution to house it all, I tend to use zip lock bags but as we have so many items I could do with a Playmobil storage centre.
I think with the current situation it is really important for children to be able to relax and just be kids, playing with toys. The brilliant thing about Playmobil is you can take it anywhere, we have been playing with our sets in the garden to create different backgrounds, making up stories and chatting about the characters included in the sets.
I am such an avid fan of Playmobil, I love nothing more than setting up the little shops putting things in order and playing with the kiddies. It is a lovely way to bring us together at this difficult time, to escape the news and just have fun.
