Mum Down

I had every intention of publishing a ‘What I Ate Today’ post yesterday, but unfortunately after my breakfast I was poorly.

Mr K took the kiddies to school which was lovely, I pottered about the house/washed my hair etc. I started to feel a bit icky so I had an apple and a glass of water. Big mistake!! I suddenly felt so sick, dizzy, tummy pains with a headache. I had to nip to Asda for a few bits so trundled on, I wish I just stayed at home.

As soon as I got out of the car I thought I was going to throw up in the car park, I picked up a trolley and proceeded to go about my shop trying not to breathe in all the food smells. It was possibly the worst shopping experience of my life – dramatic. I literally raced around the aisles picking up bits and bobs trying not to be sick in my shopping bag. I jumped in the car and headed home, as soon as I got through the door I threw up. The saddest part of my sickness bug was I had no one to hold my hair and rub my back telling me it would be okay, ha ha!

That was it, I was floored. I hopped into bed wrapped up in a dressing gown, I put This Morning on the TV and drifted in and out of sleep dreaming of what was happening on the TV. Does anyone else ever do that? You are sleepy and drifting off but can still hear the TV then dream about the programme you are watching?

Anyway, I spent most of the day in bed, I started to feel slightly better by the school run but had to take a carrier bag with me just in case I threw up in the car. I had the worst night’s sleep fidgeting and not being able to sleep, then it was school run time again.

I still feel icky today so I’m having a slow-paced day, I’ve come home opened all the windows as the Autumn sunshine is beaming through, it is quite warm in Somerset today so I’m making the most of it. I’ve hoovered and sorted the kitchen, it is time for a cuppa now.

It just goes to show how much Mum’s do in the house and with family life as the cogs stopped turning when I was wiped out yesterday – nothing was accomplished. But I’m lucky that Mr K and the kiddies were all looking after me.

(It’s a grainy photo but I love how they flock to me when I’m poorly)

So I will attempt another food post on Friday, I hope you are all having a good week.
