This weekend we had a very rare day to ourselves, we have a date day/night a few times a year – if we remember! We took full advantage of Mr K’s mum on babysitting duty, the children love going to her house and spending time with her. We headed into Exeter for a spot of shopping, first stop was Debenhams for a coffee with a view, we overlooked Exeter Cathedral it was the perfect spot for a bit of people watching.
After dragging ourselves around the shops we were starving by 2pm so went to our favourite restaurant, Turtle Bay. I love everything about this place, the food is excellent, I went for a pulled pork burger and a cider – yum! Mr K had goat curry and a beer, we were stuffed but content.
After lunch there was only one shop left to visit and that was Primark, I had high hopes of finding lots of chunky knits, blouses and cosy pyjamas. But I came away with one jumper and a scarf, we did pick the children up a few bits though.
We had a slow start to Sunday which is always nice, we went to Wetherspoons in Exmouth for a late breakfast with the children. I was so happy to see the fire had been lit and it was all toasty.
After we filled our tummies it was a walk through town to find some conkers and then back to the car as Amelie had a birthday party to attend.
I really didn’t feel too well over the weekend and am still not feeling right, so we had a cosy night in on Sunday evening. That brings us to Monday, another busy week of parents evening, preschool and de-cluttering the house.
