How fast is 2017 going!? February is over, I’m a little relieved as spring is nearly upon us although the weather we are having in Devon at the moment is more like mid winter – brr!
I thought I would mix it up this month and bring you my favourite beauty products that I have been loving during February.
I’m funny with makeup as I am always enticed by fancy packaging or go by recommendations from beauty gurus on youtube. However, I usually try them, hate them and go back to my original makeup products. I really like this blusher by Max Factor it is the Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink. I find it hard to choose the right shade of blusher and have tried so many, I’m glad I found this one as it has a lovely hint of shimmer to it that really highlights and makes my cheeks look glowy. I particularly like this blusher during summer when I’ve got a bit of a tan.
Talking of a tan, I use fake tan all year round (only on my face) I realise I’m orange for best part of the year but I don’t care as I feel pale and washed out without it. I’ve tried tons of fake tans and still strive to find the perfect one. I picked up this Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter one in Tesco in the reduced to clear section last year, it was £8 reduced to £2 so I picked up 4 bottles of it. The only thing I don’t like about it is the smell, it is really bad! But, the colour it gives is nice and even as it is a mousse I find it applies better than a lotion. I usually apply it at night time and shower it off in the morning with a bit of exfoliator, it lasts a couple of days on my face then starts to fade. I really want to try Fake Bake The Face after seeing Emily Norris talk about it on her youtube channel, her skin always looks immaculate, glowy, dewy and tanned.
I used to wear lip gloss pre children all the time but when Amelie came along I just stopped wearing it. My favourite lip gloss used to be Soap & Glory Mother Pucker in Perfectly Peach but I cannot find it anywhere. I did find this one and think it is a great copy of the Perfectly Peach, I really like the way these lip glosses make your lips tingle and feel plumper it lasts for ages too. I got the Pillow Plump XXL by Soap & Glory in the shade Coy Toy which is a shimmery nude and I’ve been wearing it a lot during February.
Back in January I had my nails painted with gel/shellac they looked amazing but when it was time for the polish to come off I was left with weak, brittle, broken thin nails and they haven’t recovered since. I picked up the Rimmel Stronger Nail, Nail Nurse as I had just run out of it and I know this product works at repairing your natural nails. You get results within a couple of weeks and as it is a polish you can use it as a base coat it hardens your nails and I noticed mine have grown since I started using this product.
I would love to have my teeth whitened professionally but can’t justify the cost, maybe I will have them whitened when I get married. In the meantime I have been using the White Glo toothpaste, I’ve actually been using it on and off for over a year now and the results are amazing. I find some whitening toothpastes to be far too harsh and burn my mouth but this is mild and works, you even get a free toothbrush and flosser toothpicks with it.
Angel is my favourite perfume ever the smell is just amazing, it is quite strong but lasts all day I only use one squirt and always get compliments when I wear it. I was lucky to receive this as a birthday present this year and I’m so happy it is a refillable bottle.
I’ve been using this OGX Reviving Moroccan Argan hair oil all through February. I wash my hair, towel dry it and then spritz a few pumps of this onto my hair, dry as usual then spray another few pumps onto my dry hair. It tames frizz and smells really nice, I may try more of the hair oils from this range as I like that it has no nasty dimethicone in it.
I hope you liked this kind of post, I’ll be back at the end of the month with the kiddie’s favourites.
