Foods We Have Been Loving During January

I’m not going to lie, I think about food all the time – what’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I like finding new healthy(ish) snacks and lunches for the family, I’m really getting into buying “free from” foods as I feel they are kinder on my tummy. I rarely get bloated after eating them and they taste so good. I’ve picked the best of the bunch to share with you today, these can be eaten on the go as a busy mum rushing about I tend to keep a few of them in my bag as I always have hungry children.

I think these Ryvita Rye Cakes are new, Charlie and me have been living off of these for lunch. We top them with Philly Light, cucumber, chilli chutney or sundried tomatoes, they are so yummy and only 23 calories a cake.

I bought the Whitworths Shots as they were on offer in Tesco for £1 and I am now obsessed, they are an essential for my handbag not just for me but Charlie is partial to them too. I prefer the biscuit ones but haven’t tried any of the other flavours.

I have featured this granola in a few posts and have fallen back in love with the granola/natural yogurt combo for breakfast. It is really tasty and fills me up until way after lunch time.

I like to have a good stash of snacks for the children in the cupboards, my bag and the car. They are always starving so I picked up these goodies to keep them going. Plus if ever I’m hungry I’ll sneak a pack too as these are both really delicious.

If you are a fan of the After Eights chocolates you will love these rice cakes. The chocolate is really thick and smooth, these are a treat for those days where you just want to scoff chocolate but don’t want to rack up the calories.

We have been loving Philly on rice cakes and also on crumpets, I tend to buy the light option but it is still really creamy and filling.

I saw these Meridian bars at Aldi of all places for 85p a bar. I thought I would give them a try, they are really nice I have them either as a breakfast or for lunch as they are quite high in calories for just a snack. They would also be handy after a work out, great to keep in your bag.
