Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2019

Mother’s Day, the one day where you really can spoil your Mum, Nan, Sister or Aunty. Show them how special they are and what they mean to you.

I have some amazing gift ideas to share with you, to suit all budgets.

SIGG WATER BOTTLE

I’m a huge fan of water bottles, but I struggle to find a decent one. Usually the children steal mine or worse, break them. However, this absolutely brilliant water bottle by Swiss brand SIGG has been a game changer. SIGG have teamed up with the Mum Plus One team to bring you a fantastic new range that has just launched. There are 17 fun designs to choose from, the bottles are ideal for teas, coffees and cold drinks. 10% from the sales of the water bottles is being donated to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in order to keep supporting the fantastic work they do.

I have been using my Mum Fuel water bottle for a few weeks now and I can honestly say it is amazing. I was worried about my water tasting tinny as it is made from recyclable aluminium but the water tastes as fresh and clean as when I poured it in. The key features I love about it, apart from the design are it is extremely light weight making it perfect for carrying around in my bag, it is BPA free and is leak proof (yes, really!!) even when you have fizzy drinks inside, nothing escapes. If you struggle to keep hydrated then I would say get yourself a good quality water bottle to keep you motivated.

COTTON TRADERS – THROW

If like me, you love snuggling up on the sofa wrapped up in a blanket then you will love the range of throws Cotton Traders have to offer. As soon as these gorgeous throws arrived my children dived in, they have taken over and absolutely love being cosy. The quality of the throws are superb, soft material, excellent quality and will dress up any room. I think this gift idea would be great for either a grand parent or someone who just likes keeping warm. You can use them all year round as there are lots of varieties on the Cotton Traders website.

BUFFWEAR

I love wearing hats especially during the winter months. Knitted hats are so handy to keep in the car for those unforeseen blustery showers and chilly Spring mornings. Buff make gorgeous hats for adults and children, they have a style to suit everyone. There is a brand new Spring range on their website featuring caps and funky neckwear that will update your wardrobe and finish off your outfit. I really love wearing a cap to the gym, it keeps my hair out of my face and I can hide under it too. The quality speaks for itself, snuggly knitted hats for the cooler months and great fitting caps for all year round.

CRITICALLY ENDANGERED SOCKS

Socks are a favourite of mine, I’m a bit obsessed with having a snuggly pair on my feet at all times. I even take socks on holiday abroad with me, I love nothing more than popping a pair on after a shower. Critically Endangered Socks are a company that helps protect some of the most endangered animals around the world – including animal Mums! These really cute pink and white Sumatran elephant socks are made from the softest sustainable cotton and bamboo, I’ve never felt a material so soft before. There are 5 designs to choose from, they retail at £12 a pair and would make a fab Mother’s Day gift.

TARGUS NEWPORT BACKPACK

This item is one of pure luxury, I absolutely am in love with it. I was so lucky to have been sent this bag to review so wanted to include it in my Mother’s Day gift guide. The Newport Navy Laptop bag by Targus is a wonder for all Mums, whether you are a working Mum or a stay-at-home Mum, you need this bag in your life. I love a good pocket, somewhere to stash all the rubbish that goes along with having children – a packet of crayons, wet wipes, raisins, toys, you name it we all have those in our bags. Just because it is called a Laptop bag does not define its use. Although if you did want to pop your laptop in, there’s enough space for a 15″ to be safely cradled in a protective pocket. I love the look of this bag it is super stylish with gorgeous hardware, comes with adjustable shoulder straps and is water repellent. I am going to be publishing a full review of this stunner so stay tuned for that.

THREE MILLS RESERVE WINE

We all know I’m partial to a glass of vino, there’s no secret there. However, I usually gravitate towards the highest alochol % in wine but am left feeling very unwell the next day. I have been trying out the Three Mills Reserve wines and am converted to a lower %. I can actually taste the flavours in the wine and not just the alcohol. First off Mr K and I tried the red wine rammed full of fruits, vanilla and cherry. This wine is like velvet, it is smooth, rich and bursting with taste. Next up was the Rose, I do love an ice cold glass of Rose during the Spring/Summer and this one did not disappoint in the slightest. It was extremely light and refreshing in taste, smooth and fruity – a perfect addition to any meal. The white wine again was jammed with flavours that lingered, this wine would be brilliant with a cheeseboard on those long sunny afternoons in the garden. If your Mum loves wine I would recommend giving Three Mills Reserve Wines a try.

LOVE LEGGINGS

Now, who doesn’t love a good legging? Not the see-through threadbare ones but thick, comfy and stylish leggings that you can grab in the morning when you are dashing around before the school run. Love Leggings hold an array of leggings and tights for gym lovers, new Mums, Mums-to-be, children and your everyday staple. I have worn the everyday leggings to the gym and just milling about at home they are extremely comfortable and I don’t have to worry about my knickers showing when I step outside. I think they make an excellent staple to any wardrobe, once you start wearing them you will want them in every colour.

SNOWDONIA CHEESE COMPANY

Here’s a little treat for the foodie Mum in your life. Who doesn’t love a good cheese board, not just at Christmas but any occasion to get the crackers and cheeses out, I’m there. The Snowdonia Cheese Company is tucked nicely away within stunning North Wales and produces a range of luxury cheeses. The Black Bomber is an extra mature cheddar cheese bursting with flavour, you’ll certainly love the creamy and smooth texture – a favourite with my children. This cheese has won numerous awards around the globe and would make the perfect accompaniment to any dinner party. The Red Devil is a fiery Red Leicester cheese perfect for melting, why not add it to your nachos or chilli to really spice things up. This cheese is also an award winner, I can’t wait to melt this on top of my burgers during the summer – yummy!

CROCK-POT SERVE & LIFT DIGITAL SLOW COOKER

I’m one of those annoying Mums who loves a kitchen accessory, I just love equipment that takes the stress out of meal times and also am very fond of hassle free cooking. I recently reviewed the Serve & Lift Digital Slow Cooker by Crock-Pot and am still absolutely loving it. I roasted a large chicken in it the other day, it came out juicy and full of flavour. I think this Crock-Pot would make an amazing gift for the cook in your home, it is fantastic for stress free nutritious cooking.

GUYLIAN BELGIAN CHOCOLATES

You cannot publish a gift guide for Mother’s Day without including the most luxurious chocolates ever. Guylian Belgian chocolates are my favourite, especially the Praline Sea Shells. These delectable shells are roasted and caramelised to absolute perfection, attention to detail is iconic and the taste sensation of pure Belgian chocolate is mouth-watering. They are absolutely scrumptious and the perfect treat for Mum.

I really hope I gave you some inspiration for Mother’s Day, there are some cracking gift ideas above. As always I would never recommend anything that I truly didn’t think was worth it or that I didn’t like.
