Seasonal Affective Disorder?
The weekend has been and gone, the rain has returned and it is freezing. I usually love days like these but I’m not feeling very Autumnal today in fact, I think I have the Autumn Blues (if that’s a thing, if not, it is now!).
To be fair it seems like we skipped the stunning orange hues of October, the crunchy leaves were a soggy mushy mess, we experienced enough rain to last a lifetime and it just did not feel like Autumn – more like January/February time. I feel I was robbed of my October and the lovely warm cosy glow I get inside when Autumn hits.
My skin is absolutely gopping at the minute – pale, dry, spotty, a yukky mess. My hair is much the same minus the spots, I had it chopped right off during August and have been letting it grow. I haven’t had it coloured in 4 months my roots are huge but I have no idea what to do with it – leave it and get a trim or have a spruce up but be left with damaged bleached hair again?
Motivation has dwindled with working out, as you guys know I am so consistent with my exercise and work out at least 5 days a week. I haven’t worked out in 10 days which probably is not helping my mood at all, that along with having a break from wine/gin/prosecco and any other alcohol, plus cutting out refined sugar I’m a miserable mess, ha ha ha!
I have been feeling extremely festive for some reason though. We had a day in on Saturday only nipping out for a coffee. The house was warm and cosy the kiddies were calm, candles were lit and we all lounged on the sofas watching Christmas movies it was utter bliss.
I bet I’m not the only moaning Minnie feeling a tad gloomy, I do love this time of year but I think my body/mind loves the Spring/Summer sunshine when everyone looks healthy, motivation is sky high, the happy endorphins are flowing (as is the wine) and we can get outside to soak it all up.
What do you do to make yourself feel better during the darker months (fyi, I love the darker nights though)? Fake tan is just not sitting right on my scaly face not matter how much exfoliating I do.
