Top Winter Skincare Products

The temperature has well and truly dropped, my skin is suffering somewhat. I had a massive pamper session yesterday and have for once in my life gone fake tan free as my skin just looked crusty and dull. I’ve really upped my water intake in the last 3 or more months but I have to say, I’ve not noticed a difference in how my skin looks or feels.

Here are my top skincare products I’ve been using to help combat a dull winter complexion.

Nip + Fab Exfoliate

I absolutely love Nip + Fab products and have used them for years. I saw this moisturiser in Superdrug and thought I’d give it a go. The consistency is thick but not greasy, it glides over my skin concealing my pores slightly and leaving a lovely base for my foundation. I don’t use this every day as I like to mix it up, it has SPF 30 and I think it would be brilliant during the summer months when you just want to pop some moisturiser on and go.

The Ordinary – Caffeine Solution

I’ve been using this eye treatment for around 6 months I think. You only need a tiny drop as a little goes a long way. I can’t say I’ve noticed a massive difference to my dark circles as I always look shattered anyway. But I’ll keep on going with it as I like the formula it is not at all greasy (a plus for me as I have oily skin) and is cheap as chips.

Blaq Mask

An old time favourite, I used this last night as I felt my skin needed perking up. I never really bought into the charcoal mask thing but I have to say, this is the best face mask I’ve ever used. I have such sensitive skin and breakout really easily when using face masks but this has never caused any reaction. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and exfoliated, I’ve almost ran out so need to purchase another tube.

The Ordinary – Peeling Solution

This looks absolutely terrifying when you apply it as it is bright red and drips all over the place. It looks like you have bathed in blood! I use this face peel every 2 weeks, when I apply it, it does sting for a bit. You are supposed to leave it on for 10 minutes after cleansing your skin, it does wonders and I would recommend this to anyone. After the application you simply rinse it off with warm water, it does leave you with a red glow for a few hours but the results are worth it. The day after I have used it my foundation/makeup go on super slick and my complexion is clear and soft. I use this after my shower at night time.

No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream

I have to be so careful with night cream as it tends to block my pores and I break out terribly. I love this night cream as it is light enough not to clog up my skin, it leaves me feeling refreshed and with soft skin.

Palmers Cocoa Butter

Not forgetting the rest of my body during winter as my legs have been known to resemble a scaly lizard. Am I the only one who cannot be bothered to moisturise after a shower? I’m so lazy when it comes to the rest of my body but I have been making an effort to use my all time favourite body butter, I have been using this since I was about 16 years old (a looooong time!!) and I love it so much, the smell is super scrumptious.

I have a holiday abroad coming up shortly so I’ll no doubt switch up my skincare routine to accommodate that, I’ll be honest I cannot wait to have holiday skin – bring on the sunshine!
