It is the New Year and hopefully the Christmas bloat has vanished for you, I didn’t over eat too much during December but I certainly ate what I fancied. I have been using My Fitness Pal for about 3 months now so generally track all of my meals and snacks each day. I find it really works for me and I like to look back to see what I’ve eaten, I’m very good 6 days a week and have a “cheat” day at the weekend. So far this has worked for me and I’ve lost 11lbs since October, the weight has come off slowly and I haven’t deprived myself.
During the 3 months I’ve not exercised a great deal partly because I did have a nasty sickness bug and I just haven’t felt like it to be honest. We are all completley different and for me, reducing treats (sugar) and bread/potatoes works best, I don’t need to work out 5 days a week to lose weight as I find that diet/eating healthy is key for me. However, now I’m at a weight I’m happy with I’ve found the passion for working out coming back slightly so I’m starting Kayla Itsines from the beginning, working out 3 times a week but not stressing if I miss a work out or am too tired to work out. This isn’t a New Year, New Me post it is a continuation of how I’ve been living for the past few months.
I thought I would show you what kind of meals I have been eating over the last week, these are dinners that I’ve made and also a breakfast that I have been loving.
Homemade Chicken Stir Fry with Sweet Chilli Sauce & Egg Noodles
Salt & Pepper Basa Fillet with Gourmet Kale/Baby Plum Tomatoes/Baby Corn stir fried in Coconut Oil & Balsamic Vinegar
Homemade Chicken Stew cooked in the slow cooker with Toasted Panini
Homemade Turkey Burger with Gourmet Kale stir fried in Coconut Oil and Balsamic Vinegar.
This is a new breakfast that I was sent to try by ORGRAN and it is absolutely delicious. If you aren’t a big fan of oaty porridge that can often leave you feeling too full and heavy, I would suggest giving this Quinoa porridge a try. It is very light but very filling and the berries melt once cooked leaving a sweet taste to the porridge. I quite often feel bloated after breakfast but this porridge is gluten/wheat/egg/dairy/yeast free and is ideal if you are taking part in Veganuary. ORGRAN have a great range of products that are free from and I will be repurchasing this porridge as I like it so much, Charlie was coming back for seconds when he tried it and he is the fussiest 3 year old you could meet.
I hope this post has given you some inspiration, I really enjoy reading diet and exercise blogs written by real mums, I do get caught up looking through Instagram and wishing I looked like some of these gorgeous mums you see that have had 20 billion children but still look ripped. But, that is unrealistic and I do not want diet/exerice taking over my life, if I want the slice of chocolate brownie I’ll have it.
Have a great week!
