Hello September and hello cosy knitwear! I have been waiting for the air to chill a bit, the nights to start drawing in that little bit earlier and to dig out my Autumn wardrobe. Now I know it isn’t “officially” Autumn until nearly the end of the month but I don’t really care what anyone says, September is Autumn for me.
We have had some cracking weather of late mixed with some proper chilly days, I do find the transition into the next season challenging sometimes but I thought I’d give you a peek at what I have been wearing recently – a look book if you will.
Camel is one of my favourite colours to wear all year round. This jumper is from Next and is light enough to wear throughout the summer months when it starts to get a little cooler. Paired with my River Island Molly Jeans – which are my absolute favourite.
September has seen the return of the check shirt. I am a bit funny when it comes to these types of shirt and will only wear them during Autumn/Winter as I do think they are more of a seasonal shirt. The only shirts I buy are from Peacocks of all places as they are fitted, good value for money and wash well.
I have to confess, I’ve lived in this pinafore dress from Primark all summer long and will continue to wear it forever. It is super comfy and looks great with almost anything, I cannot wait to wear cosy tights and boots with a chunky cardigan thrown over. This time I wore a lovely long sleeved top from Primark – they do the best basics!
I was a little nervous wearing this pinafore dress from Topshop as it is way out of my comfort zone with regards to pattern. But I really love it and received so many lovely compliments. It was a hot day so I wore it with a basic vest top from Primark, again, I will certainly pair this with a black roll neck tights and boots during Winter.
I think I found the cardigan of dreams here – soft, comfy, slouchy/oversized and blush pink. It is from Urban Outfitters and I cannot tell you how much I love it. Whenever I wear it the children come and snuggle up to me because it is so soft.
Another day, another pinafore dress, I am seriously addicted to them. This one is a berry coloured cord dress from Topshop, it is a little roomy but I quite like the relaxed fit.
One of my favourite “mum” outfits is a striped top, jeans and Converse. I am obsessed with this Joules top, perfect for milling about with the kiddies and having a mum life day.
This cold shoulder top from Dorothy Perkins is so old but every time I wear it I get lots of messages about it. I do really like it but I have to be in the right mood to wear it as it is quite floaty. I look like a bag lady during the week but at weekends I do like to make an effort and dress up, I never keep clothes for best as I genuinely do not go “out, out” anymore.
Probably my most worn outfit this summer, a floaty skirt and vest top. So comfy, not clingy and looks relatively smart. This whole outfit is from Primark.
And there you have it, I expect I’ll be sharing lots of Autumn outfits on here and Instagram over the next few months as I do love a cosy, snuggly jumper. What’s your favourite go-to Autumn outfit?
