Another month has been and gone, here are my top beauty favourites for April.
Dove – Summer Glow Gradual Tanning Lotion
I have been using this gradual tanning lotion for around 6 or 7 years now and I still love the results I get. The smell is no too offensive, it goes on smoothly although I don’t tend to use too much as it is quite thick. There is no need to wash it off in the morning and it leaves a subtle tan to your skin, it does work better on the body than the face. The tan is darker but very natural on the arms, legs etc and lighter on the face.
Lee Stafford – Dehumidifier
I absolutely LOVE this hair product and again, have been using for a number of years. It is the only thing that tames my naturally curly hair. I use this along with other products from the Lee Stafford range such as the hair serum and the heat protector, they smell of Angel perfume and last for ages.
OPI – Nail Envy
At Christmas I had a set of gel nails I’ve had them before but forgot how much they damage my natural nails. I took them off just after Christmas and what I was left with was just awful, the state of my nails was so upsetting – they were ruined. I tried everything to get them back to a healthy state but nothing was working. It was when I saw my sister she told me about Nail Envy and her nails were like talons, really strong and healthy too. Obviously I was straight on the Ebay app ordering my bottle and I’m so happy I did as it has saved my poor brittle nails. The results have been amazing and I now have lovely strong nails again – yippeee!
Benefit – Bad Gal Bang Mascara
I wanted to include the Bad Gal mascara in this month’s favourites but I do have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. My main gripe is, it leaves my lashes really clumpy and spider-like. I’m sure lots of ladies out there will disagree and love the spider legs look but it just isn’t for me. I prefer fluffy dark lashes so tend to use this as a last coat on top of my usual mascara, but I love this mascara for my bottom lashes. As with no mascara they are pretty much non existent. The other thing that I’m not too fond about is the removal of it at the end of the day, it sticks like super glue and is quite harsh on my eyelashes. But I do really like it in a weird way, the colour is great and it does lengthen your lashes obviously it stays put all day too.
Blaq – Charcoal Mask
I received this in my first Birchbox and to be honest, I didn’t think I would be using it as I thought it was a bit gimmicky. After reading the instructions I applied it to my face, it went on really easily and I left it for a good 10 – 15 minutes. When I pulled it off it really hurt it was like having a face wax but the results were amazing, I did think it would break me out as I have very sensitive skin. My face looked clearer, my pours were minimized and I had no breakouts.
Beautaniq Beauty – Fill & Tame Brow Gel
I have never used a brow gel before so was happy to try this one out that arrived in my Birchbox. I usually shape and dye my own eyebrows once a month but still have to fill them in each day. I was impressed with the coverage, I’m sure there is a knack to applying this though and I’m still working on it. It was a good colour and stayed put all day.
