Current Beauty Favourites

I’m sharing a few of my current favourite beauty items to brighten up this miserable wet day we are having. I’m sat here with my hair in a bun soaked in coconut oil waiting to wash it and typically it is pouring down outside, this always happens to me when I want to wash my hair!

Beauty Favourites

St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub

I found this little gem at Home Bargains for a fraction of the price, I’ve been using this brand for around 17 years (gosh, that makes me sound old) and I think it is the best exfoliator out there. I never get any irritation or breakouts from using this, it is so affordable and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

I have super sensitive skin so don’t like to mess around with it too much. I find thick creams and harsh cleansers break me out. I really like this cleansing water it is kind to my skin, removes all of my foundation/concealer/blusher and doesn’t smell horrid. I don’t use this to take off my mascara as I wear waterproof mascara, I use baby oil and a cotton wool pad to remove my eye make up.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

During the winter months my lips really suffer with the cold weather, I’m prone to cold sores so I like to keep them hydrated. I’m quite a fuss pot when it comes to lip products and can only really wear certain brands as most of the balms I put on somehow get back my throat and make me cough – strange, I know. But the Burt’s Bees lip balm is very moisturising, I put it on before bed and wake up with soft skin. I also let Amelie use it as the ingredients are natural, she loves it too.

Tigi Bed Head, Dumb Blonde Shampoo

My hair is highlighted and has a lot of heat applied to it so I like to use a moisturising shampoo. I started using Dumb Blonde shampoo years ago, I like to switch up my hair products but have returned to this. The smell of it is just like sweets and I love how it leaves my hair feeling after washing. My hair is my most annoying feature as I like the blonde but hate how it frazzles my hair accompanied with using ghds. I try not to straighten it too much now and am seeing results, I’m not fussed on how long it is any more I just want healthy looking hair.

Vita Coconut Oil

I have banged on about using coconut oil too many times but I truly rate it. I wash my hair once a week, slather on some coconut oil, pop it up in a bun for around 30 – 50 minutes then wash it out. I would be lost without this stuff, it has to be Vita or Aldi’s raw cold pressed coconut oil though.

Nivea Body In Shower Lotion

I am so lazy when it comes to body moisturiser and am often left with dry skin because I just cannot be arsed with applying body cream after a shower – who has time for that!? Plus I hate the sticky wet feeling it leaves under my clothes, yuk. However, this in shower body moisturiser is brilliant and leaves my skin hydrated and soft, it takes 2 minutes to apply and wash off and I’m done. Great for busy mums who are looking for a no fuss product.

St. Moriz Fake Tan

I have been using fake tan for 20 years (again, how old do I feel!!) and I still haven’t found the perfect tan. I’m only fake tanning once a week as for some reason my skin hates me during winter, I can’t get the colour right and look like I’ve been tangoed most days but I really couldn’t care less. I love the way having a fake tan makes me feel, my make up sits better on my face and I look less haggard. This St. Moriz tan is super affordable and does leave a nice finish but I am still on the hunt for the perfect colour, I’m going to try Tanya Whitebits next as I’ve heard very good reviews on Instagram.
