How To: Gluten & Dairy Free Gooey Chocolate Chunk Cookies

    October 20, 2020 /

Who doesn’t love a gooey chocolate chunk cookie washed down with a hot cuppa tea!? After being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease the option for me to scoff my face with those delicious supermarket cookies was non existent and to be honest I was devastated. I have been trying to bake our own sweet treats and reaching less for the shop bought version as some of the gluten free options are loaded with sweeteners which really irritate my tummy. If you are looking for a cookie that is gooey on the inside yet a little crisp on the outer layer then I have just the recipe for you. GLUTEN AND DAIRY…

Pumpkin Patch – Jolly Pumpkin PYO, Exeter

    October 13, 2020 /

Pumpkin Patches were not a “thing” when I was younger. In fact I don’t remember carving pumpkins until quite late on in childhood and even then, there were other Halloween traditions that overtook this. However, times have certainly changed and now instead of picking up a pumpkin with your weekly shop, you can make a day of it picking your own from colourful pumpkin patches across the country. We donned our welly boots and raincoats last weekend to visit a new Pumpkin Patch – Jolly Pumpkin – located in Exeter. When we pulled up to the humungous field, the children were squealing with excitement. I have to admit, I was…

Review: Nourish London Organic & Vegan Skincare

    October 2, 2020 /

Nourish London – Organic & Vegan Skincare With the change in seasons also comes a need for that extra protection and nourishment for our skin. I don’t know about you but, I find skincare really difficult to get right. It’s like buying a pair of jeans, I do not ever seem to be able to find the perfect pair. This is the same with the lotions and potions I put on my skin – they have to suit my skin type, not be too overpowering, not contain any unnecessary ingredients and live up to their hype. My skin differs all the time, I found a brilliant summer skincare routine. Now…

Gluten Free Slow Cooker Beef Stew

    September 29, 2020 /

Autumn has finally arrived and that means only one thing – it’s slow cooker season. Time to cosy up and scoff all those scrumptious comfort foods. Stew is most certainly up there – along with a good roast dinner – as one of my favourite warm, filling Autumnal dishes. A good stew reminds me of my childhood as my lovely little Nan used to make the best beef stews with dumplings and all the trimmings. Slow cookers are fantastic aren’t they? You can create so many versatile dishes with minimal effort, my kind of cooking. I love loading the crock pot up in the morning, setting the heat, popping the…

Weekend Adventures: Minehead, Ice Creams, Vivary Park & Family Time

    September 23, 2020 /

Back with a Weekend Adventures post, something I have not published in such a long time. This post was actually from back in June when we were still social distancing and establishments were not fully open. I thought it would be fun to document and look back on. Saturday 13th June It was a slow start to the weekend which is just what we all needed. It was Charlie’s first week back to school, Amelie was still home learning. Charlie had a brilliant week, there was only 7 children in his class so he had lots of fun. As the weather was a little on the dull side I thought…

What I’ve Been Wearing: Lockdown Edition

    September 16, 2020 /

I love these What I’ve Been Wearing posts but haven’t actually published one in months. Just a little side note, this post was written in June during the lockdown days. All of the outfits can be adapted for any season just by adding tights and a chunky knit. OUTFITS  The trusty old Primark pinafore and vest top that was on repeat last summer, a favourite outfit of mine and super cute with flip flops and a straw bag. I wear this pinafore during the Autumn/Winter months with either a striped long sleeve top or roll neck, boots and tights – perfect for those cold crisp days and fab for layering.…

    What I Ate Today #coeliac #glutenfree

    September 11, 2020 /

I love producing what I ate today posts. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone back to these posts for meal ideas and just to see what I was scoffing. As I mentioned in previous posts, this is not real time, this post was from June when I was taking a break from blogging. Here is what I ate on Monday 15th June 2020. Breakfast – 7.00am  Nothing unusual here – a bowl of scrumptious gluten free porridge, mixed up with my favourite probiotic Biomel. I recently tried a new peanut butter and absolutely love it. The Meridian Smooth Peanut Butter is delicious, it is a little…

Dry June: 30 Days Sober #sobercurious

    September 9, 2020 /

You read it right, Dry June – 30 days sober! I am writing this post on 1st July after completing my mission to not drink any alcohol for the whole of June. Why did I decide June was the month to embark on a zero alcohol period? Well, this year hasn’t been the best (for anyone). It started well for me, I spent 3 weeks not drinking then my birthday rolled round towards the end of January. So I had a few glasses of wine, this then turned back into bad habits of boredom drinking at the weekends. I did have a few more spells of going vino free but…

    Radio Silence: Life & Blogging

    June 26, 2020 /

Hi, how are you all doing (possibly a silly question)? I just wanted to pop a quick post up just to say hello really and check in. What a crazy few months it has been, life really has been full of ups and downs. Lockdown was mental, intense, full of emotion and now things are easing into a new normal we are entering a whole new anxious phase. Life as we know it has changed for the foreseeable, lots has happened in our household and we are all still getting used to our daily routine. I have decided to take a long break from blogging over the summer months. Things…

    Father’s Day: Lockdown Gift Ideas

    June 8, 2020 /

Father’s Day – a tricky one for me and I feel a little bit of a fraud writing a post suggesting gifts for Dads. Why? Well, I didn’t have a Dad growing up, it was my Sister, my Mum and me. So I really do not know what having that Father figure in your life is all about. What I will say is, I had the BEST  Mum in the world to have brought my sister and me up as a single parent. She was both Mum and Dad, I do send her a text every year saying “Happy Father’s Day!”. There was only one thing I wanted when I…
