Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Wednesdays, it really doesn’t matter – I love cake on any occasion. So I was very excited to be sent a couple of fantastic personalised cupcakes to review.
As it was Amelie’s 5th birthday this week I thought what better way to celebrate than with personalised birthday cupcakes, what 5 year old wouldn’t love a cake with their face on it on their big day? The company Caketoppers specialises in cakes, cupcakes and printed icing edible toppers. You can personalise them with your photo, logo or message and can choose from chocolate cake or classic sponge cake. Both of which are absolutely delicious! My children are fussy with cake but not a crumb was left after they had scoffed them.
I was unsure of being sent cake through the post, I had visions of it arriving looking like a cake smash in a box. However when the cupcakes arrived I was over the moon. The cupcakes were tightly packaged within bubblewrap so there was no way they could move around or sustain any damage. Delivery was excellent and super quick, I was surprised to see the cupcakes had a shelf life of a couple of weeks which is just amazing, there is nothing worse than items arriving with a ridiculously short shelf life. I needed the cupcakes for Amelie’s birthday party which was a few days after they arrived.
I received a lovely note, wishing Amelie a happy birthday party which I thought was so nice and a personal touch.
I was so impressed with the photo I sent across, I thought it might have to be cropped and messed around with to fit onto the topper but as you can see it turned out perfectly. Both sponges were luxurious, not dry or crumbly, the icing was of good quality and passed the taste test.
Friends and family who attended Amelie’s party commented on how lovely they were, saying it was a nice touch to add. I would certainly be looking at getting some made up for Charlie’s 3rd birthday in April as they are very reasonably priced, starting at just £5.95.
Caketoppers has an extensive range to suit any celebration, I particularly like the Disney themed ones for the children and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner they have some amazing cupcakes especially for the occasion, I may have to drop some hints about those ones!
Disclaimer: I was sent two personalised cupcakes in exchange for an honest review.
