Children’s Christmas Stocking Fillers Gift Guide 2017

When I was little I absolutely loved getting a Christmas stocking. Waking up and hearing the rustling of the wrapping paper at the end of my bed, knowing there were lots of goodies from Father Christmas waiting for me was beyond exciting. I wasn’t so keen on the Satsuma that had been left though and that always ended up back in the fruit bowl.

Now I am the mum I get very giddy about organising the Christmas stocking and searching for unique little presents for my children. So, I’m going to share a few lovely gift ideas that I have found recently.

English Tea Shop Young at Heart Christmas Tea

My little boy loves having a cuppa with me and The English Tea Shop has created this gorgeous Rooibos Gingerbread Man Christmas Tea especially for the young at heart. The tea is caffeine-free which is just perfect for everyone, it is like Christmas in a mug and has hints of cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and apple making it the perfect drink to settle down with and get cosy whilst watching a good Christmas movie. The festive tin contains 40 tea bags and comes in packs of three from Amazon at just £10.99 each, making it the ideal stocking filler for all ages.

Cats Protection Cat Sox in a Mug

This adorable little gift set would be perfect for an older child, what is not to love about fluffy cosy socks and a big mug for those luxury hot chocolates to sit in. This Cat Sox in a Mug gift set is £12.99 and comes in a box which makes life easier when wrapping up and will fit neatly in a Christmas stocking. Cats Protection have an excellent shop with lots of lovely gift ideas for all the family and funds received through purchases go towards helping over 190,000 cats and kittens each year.

Colgate Minions Kids Interactive Battery Brush

I am certain I’m not the only parent who buys their children a new fun toothbrush for their Christmas stocking. I will try anything to get my children to brush their teeth and these fab Colgate Minions Interactive Battery Toothbrushes do just the job. The Minions tell children how to be a better brusher and give them instructions whilst they are brushing – how fun! They even congratulate them after they have finished brushing, which my kids loved. The brush is certainly a good tool as it encourages them to brush for 2 minutes, it has extra soft bristles ideal for little toothy pegs and is easy to operate. You can pick them up from Boots or Superdrug (RRP: £11.99). There is also a mild bubble fruit flavoured toothpaste to accompany the brush for £1.00.

Yoga Bug Book

Yoga Bug is a beautiful book for infants and toddlers, although my children who are 5 and 3 years old loved reading it, Charlie always gets this book out to read before bed time. They enjoyed trying out the different yoga moves and had fun whilst looking at the cute bugs in the pictures. I really love this book, the colours draw you in and the bugs are just so sweet, my favourites are the ladybug and grasshopper. Yoga Bug encourages children to move and there’s a handy parent’s guide at the back of the book which gives some useful tips for creating the authentic yoga poses. This is an ideal stocking filler for any young child, you can find it on Amazon, but be sure to check out Sarah Jane Hinder’s website for free downloadable colouring pages, there is also an activity pack coming soon.

Sweetness and Pea – Bajo Mini Gruffalo

A gift for little hands, this Bajo Mini Gruffalo by Sweetness and Pea is the perfect stocking filler this Christmas. I adore wooden toys for children, they are timeless and if taken care of, can be played with for years to come. We are huge Gruffalo fans in our house and this toy did not disappoint, this particular gift is 15cm tall and is aimed at children 18 months plus. The Mini Gruffalo has moving arms and legs making it fun for little ones, it would look gorgeous on a book shelf in a nursery or as my son did, put it in a space rocket flying off to the moon. It really captures imagination and is a perfect size to keep in the change bag for those moments you find yourself needing to entertain your toddler. The price is also very appealing, it is from the Pocket Money range and at £9.95 I think that is great for such an excellent quality wooden toy.

Walkers Shortbread Wobbly Santa Tin

This gorgeous little festive Wobbly Santa Tin will bring a smile to any child’s face this Christmas, it is filled with scrumptious mini shortbread stars just waiting to be eaten. The shortbread is smooth and buttery in taste with a little crunch, they are extremely moreish which is great if you have more than one child as you could wrap this up as a joint stocking filler especially from the big man himself. Once the delicious treats have been scoffed you can reuse the tin, children will have lots of fun making Santa wobble. It has a great price tag too, at just £8.40 it makes for the perfect stocking treat.

Snazaroo

I don’t know about your children but mine absolutely love having their face painted, I often give them an old eyeshadow pallet to play with at home. Snazaroo are the nation’s leading face paint brand and have launched their very own Christmas mini face paint range. The mini face paints are an ideal stocking filler, they are just £2.99 each. The pallets come with three colours, a sponge and a brush for easy application, you also get a step by step guide to assist you. Children will love letting their imaginations run wild, creating snowmen and ice fairies especially for Christmas time. Snazaroo face paints are suitable for sensitive skin and will wash off with soap and water. To create the above looks all you need to do is add a dash of water to a brush or sponge, dip it in a little bit of face paint and away you go, if you visit the Snazaroo website you will find an array of how-to guides for beginners to follow.

Sweet Champions Selection Box

Who doesn’t love a sweet treat at the end of their stocking, why not try out these vintage sweets from Tangerine Confectionery. The selection box is a great size and homes some tasty sweets such as Black Jacks, Dip Dab and Refreshers – yum! There are many other sweets to choose from within the collection including; Vimto Jelly Beans and Bon Bons, Princess Chocolate, Pink & White Marshmallows and Wham Cosmic Chews.

Hallmark Itty Bittys

Hallmark Itty Bittys are adorable plush characters ideal for adding to the Christmas pile. There are various collections such as this gorgeous Christmas range, Star Wars, Marvel, Scooby-Doo, Snoopy and The Wizard of Oz to name but a few. Collectors will go crazy over them this Christmas and at only £6.00 they won’t break the budget – a perfect stocking filler. Itty Bittys are suitable from 4 months upwards, they are super soft and perfect for little hands to grasp. They would also make an ideal present to add to a Christmas Eve box.

As you can see from above there are some gorgeous little stocking fillers around this festive season, I hope I have given a few new ideas and alternatives.
