Whether it be taking a trip to the supermarket 2 minutes up the road, a day trip somewhere or just indoors, my children are always starving. Going out of the house for me, is like packing to feed the 5000, there’s drinks, fruit, sandwiches, crackers and extra supplies just in case – I’m prepared for every scenario possible. However, I do try to make healthy choices when it comes to snacks as both Amelie and Charlie love to snack but I do not want to be filling their tummies with sugary treats all the time.
We have been fans of Organix products ever since the weaning days, I remember giving both children the puffs as a first taste of “crisps” they were both huge fans of the carrot sticks and sweetcorn rings, we still buy them now even though the children are older. I love having no junk snacks to hand and Organix have been making these delicious products for 25 years.
We were very kindly sent some new Punk’D Oaty Bars to try out and I have to admit I had a couple of them. As with most toddler/kid friendly snacks I was expecting the bars to taste really bland and dry, however I was pleasantly surprised to find they were bursting with flavour and not dry at all.
We tried the Strawberry & Vanilla Smash and the Cocoa & Orange Crash bars which are soft baked bars made with real fruit and wholegrain oats and the perfect portion size for children (and hungry parents!). I really like that they are just the right size to fit into a backpack, change bag – even a clutch bag for those snack attacks.
I was also very pleased to see there were 6 bars in each pack as there is nothing worse than buying cereal/snack bars for the children and finding only 4 in there. The Punk’D bars are ideal for popping in a lunch box or taking to school at pick up time, Amelie is always hungry when she finishes school and roots in my bag for a snack. They went down a treat in our house and I have already purchased another box as we like them so much.
Disclaimer: I was sent the Punk’D Oaty Bars to review, as always all words and opinions are my own.
