What My 4 Year Old Ate Today

4 year olds are a tricky bunch to please and I find most of my battles with Charlie are over food. I have learnt very well to pick my battles with both children especially at meal times, so here is what Charlie ate today. Breakfast This morning Charlie ate, sourdough toast with flora spread and marmite. I also gave him a small bowl of strawberries along with a drink of milk. Lunch It was a preschool day so I packed him up with a cheese mini wrap, a pot of raspberries and strawberries, a Yeo yoghurt, some BBQ Mini Cheddars, Bear Paws and an apple juice. He ate everything apart…

    What I Ate Today

I’m back with another ‘What I ate today’ post. I love seeing what people eat, one, because I’m nosy and two, because it gives me meal inspiration. Breakfast – 7.00am No surprises here, my favourite breakfast of all time – Nomadic Yogurt & Oat Clusters. Charlie loves these so I have to sneak my breakfast as he will be straight in there even if he’s had his porridge. Lunch – 12.00pm I was starving today, I’ve been to the gym this week and it makes me ravenous. I crave all the carbs it is so hard to resist so I try and stick with healthy carbs and protein. Today I…

What I Eat In A Day

I’m sharing what I eat in a day, I realise this does not look like a lot of food but some days I’m just not hungry. I am quite strict during the week and then eat (within reason) what I want at the weekend, it is what works for me. I pigged out during Easter I just couldn’t resist all the mini eggs, but eating junk food constantly makes me feel really bloated and unhealthy. Breakfast – Nomadic Yogurt & Oats This has been my favourite go-to breakfast for about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. It is filling, tasty and is great if I am in a…

    A Sunday Well Spent…

They say a Sunday well spent, brings a week of content and I sure hope that’s true. We had a lovely family Sunday eating out, cooking together, playing with vintage Lego and ending it with a big roast dinner. Sunday morning was spent at a trendy bar for breakfast. We usually go to Wetherspoons but fancied somewhere a little different so we headed to Spoken in Exmouth. The food was so delicious and excellent quality with lots of choice on the menu. The children shared American Pancakes with Nutella whilst Mr K and myself chose the Across The Pond breakfast I wasn’t expecting it to be as huge as it…

    What I’ve Been Eating, Fitness/Diet Update – January 2018

It is the New Year and hopefully the Christmas bloat has vanished for you, I didn’t over eat too much during December but I certainly ate what I fancied. I have been using My Fitness Pal for about 3 months now so generally track all of my meals and snacks each day. I find it really works for me and I like to look back to see what I’ve eaten, I’m very good 6 days a week and have a “cheat” day at the weekend. So far this has worked for me and I’ve lost 11lbs since October, the weight has come off slowly and I haven’t deprived myself. During…

What My 3 Year Old Eats

I’ve been having a real issue with Charlie’s eating habits for around a month or so, he has become really fussy. Something which I didn’t think would happen as he has always been a really good eater, I think that Amelie’s fussiness rubs off on him and if she doesn’t like something the whole world knows about it. Here is a typical day’s food¬†– when he isn’t at preschool. Breakfast Today’s breakfast is multigrain hoops with milk and a bowl of raspberries and strawberries. Charlie likes choosing his own fruit and we often chat about the colours and shapes of the fruit. Snack We went to Bicton Park and after…

    Banana Bread Recipe

I’ve never made banana bread before and to be honest every time I bake the end result ends up burnt and tasting like rubbish. We had some ripe bananas that were just left in the fruit bowl, you know the ones that are a bit brown that no-one really wants to eat. So I decided to take the plunge and bake some tasty banana bread, I’m pleased to say it turned out super – here’s the recipe. Ingredients 3 Bananas 1 Egg 1/2 Cup Soft Brown Sugar 1 Tsp Vanilla Essence 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil (melted) 100g Chocolate Chips (optional) 1 Tsp Baking Powder 1 1/2 Cups Flour (Plain)  …

What Mummy Eats In A Day

Just a little insight into what I eat in a day, I don’t eat like this every day. I’m under the weather at the moment with a silly head cold so I’m not particularly hungry and when I am, I quite like picky food. Breakfast This granola is by far the best I’ve tasted, it is organic and has yummy yogurt chunks in it with strawberries and blueberries. It tastes amazing with natural yogurt mixed into it. Charlie had the same for breakfast today, he is also a fan of this combo. Lunch Today I had an early lunch at 11am as I was going to meet a friend for…
