    The Pressures of Half Term

We’ve just come through a long bank holiday weekend and it is now half term. I’m sure I’m not alone in the fact that I think I should be a children’s entertainer for the entire week? But why do I feel immense pressure during the holidays to be busy and do something exciting every day with the children. I keep forgetting the fact that my children are now of an age where we don’t have to get out of the house every single day. It is so important to me that they do get some fresh air though – it does us all the world of good – so even…

    One Of Those Weeks

I’ll be honest, this week has seen tears, meltdowns, laughter, new adventures, anxiety and so much more – we are only at Wednesday and I’m done! I’m having one of those weeks where nothing goes to plan, things go wrong and emotions are sky high. I could bottle it all up and feel 10xs worse but I feel like I need to have a massive cry and then everything will be okay again, anyone else get like this? Yesterday tipped me over the edge and I needed to get out into the fresh air. Thankfully the sun was shining and it was warm, I wrapped Charlie up and we headed…

    Holiday Blues

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a super New Year’s Eve. It is the eve before the children return to school and Mr K returns to work, I’ve got to say I am so sad that the Christmas holidays are over – I have the holiday blues. Come Friday, we will have forgotten all about how we lounged around in our pyjamas leisurely getting breakfast and watching endless Christmas and 80s movies. This is the first year that I feel the holidays haven’t dragged, I didn’t get the Christmas limbo last week and I wasn’t looking forward to the return of school. Granted I’ve…

    Children’s Christmas Gift Guide 2017

I am so excited to share this Children’s Christmas Gift Guide! I always think it is easy to buy gifts for children and always end up with the same range of toys that hardly get played with. I have found some cracking gifts this year, I hope you like them as much as I do. Rock & Ruddle Hair Brushes Rock & Ruddle Hairbrushes are all natural bristle hair brushes designed for delicate scalps. There are three types of bristles – soft and gentle baby bristles, natural bristles suitable from toddler age upwards and mixed bristles which are ideal for detangling long hair that gets knotted easily. These gorgeous hair…

    Sick Note

Being poorly as an adult is bad enough but being poorly sick when you are a parent is bleddy horrendous! We have been struck down with a god awful sickness bug that we are still in the thick of. No amount of antibacterial hand gel or wipes or sprays could have prevented this one. It all kicked off on Sunday, Amelie had been complaining of feeling unwell all week with a tummy ache and feeling tired etc. I knew something was brewing as I had been feeling quite similar apart from I kept burning up from the inside. We popped to The Range on Sunday morning, Amelie said she felt…

    Stepping Back into Real Life

What a beautiful weekend we are having! I’m so happy the sun has made a return it makes life so much brighter doesn’t it. I absolutely love blogging and recording events in my life but I do get overwhelmed by stats, followers, tweets, Instagram posts, Facebook statuses etc. I find myself getting swallowed up by social media and sometimes feel very suffocated and often inadequate, if you blog or vlog you will certainly understand what I mean. Mr K has a week off work and it is the last week of the summer holidays next week, I’m gutted the children have to return to school as, even though they’ve bickered…

Summer Holiday Activities For Children – Ice Excavations!

I thought I would share a series of activities that the children get up to over the summer holidays, things that I have been wanting to try for ages and also to keep them busy. This week’s activity is… Ice Excavations Really simple and cheap activity for children to do but keeps them entertained and their busy minds ticking over. You will need some small toys that you don’t mind getting wet and frozen, a strong large zip lock bag, some water and enough space in your freezer. I chose a Frozen theme for Amelie’s bag and a dinosaur/cars/bugs theme for Charlie’s bag. I placed the toys into two separate bags…

    Summer Holidays!!

Yes, the summer holidays are in reach and my goodness the break is needed. Amelie is exhausted and cannot wait to finish school on Friday, we are going to celebrate her first year in Reception with a movie, sweets, popcorn, ice cream and snuggles when Charlie chops is in bed. Below is a list of things I’m looking forward to and things I’m not so excited about… The Good Not having to set my alarm – I usually set my alarm for 6.35am as I like to have plenty of time to get sorted and not rush around. I never actually have to rely on my alarm much as Charlie…

Weekend Adventures – Bystock Pools, Budleigh Salterton

We had a slow paced morning on Saturday we decided to take the children for a wonder in the woods at Bystock Pools, Budleigh Salterton. I have heard so many local people talking about the pools but have never been myself. I thought they would be hard to locate but as it turns out they are right on the road side as you head towards the Reservoir. As a treat, on our way to Bystock Pools we stopped off at Moore’s Pasties for a couple of sausage rolls and scrumptious pasties – our favourite, they do the best in town! When we arrived we were all bowled over by how stunning and peaceful…
