Weekend Adventures: Minehead, Ice Creams, Vivary Park & Family Time

Back with a Weekend Adventures post, something I have not published in such a long time. This post was actually from back in June when we were still social distancing and establishments were not fully open. I thought it would be fun to document and look back on. Saturday 13th June It was a slow start to the weekend which is just what we all needed. It was Charlie’s first week back to school, Amelie was still home learning. Charlie had a brilliant week, there was only 7 children in his class so he had lots of fun. As the weather was a little on the dull side I thought…

Brazier Coffee Roasters – Tonedale, Somerset

One of the brilliant things about blogging is its platform. You can have an idea, create something and put it out there for the world to see. I quite often refer to blog posts for ideas on where to visit, places to eat and so forth. I thought it would be useful (for me just as much) to start documenting the little places we visit at the weekends, whether it be a new restaurant, pub, fast food eatery or a coffee shop (my favourite) and jot down my thoughts on them. I think this will be helpful as now I really have to be careful about what I eat (no…

Nativity, Coffee Dates and A Merry Christmas!

Life has been a blur of Christmas festivities, mince pies, coffee dates, nativity performances and so much chocolate. But, I’ve loved every second of it this is what December is all about and I for one, do not want it to end. I’m one of those people who absolutely loves the build up to Christmas and it makes me so sad to think that in a week’s time it will all be over. This year I seem to have really made the most of the festive season, savouring every last drop of magic. The children are at the best age to really appreciate Christmas and understand it isn’t just about…

    The Simple Life

We love to get outdoors with the children at the weekends. Sometimes it is nice to chill out but we all end up going a bit stir crazy, the kiddies start bickering and squabbling, I start shouting and it all goes a bit tits up. Fresh air really is good for the soul, I find if the children have a free reign to run, shout, scream, sing and just be kids they are much calmer when we return home. This weekend we decided to head to one of our favourite beaches in Budleigh. We stopped off for an essential flat white in the gorgeous cafe Earls, I absolutely love this…

Weekend Adventures – Torquay, Coffee & New Shoes

So it was the first weekend of February, we made it through the January blues. Both of my two are so ready for half term which is at the end of the week, I’m certainly ready for slow paced mornings and no school runs – yippee! Saturday We were up super early on Saturday which is not ideal but we had a very important event that morning. As we were all up and dressed Mr K suggested we head to Torquay for the afternoon as we had not been since the summer. The forecast predicted rain, however the sun shone all day for us, it was glorious. We headed to…

    August Favourites

I’ve not posted a monthly favourites in a while but here I am uploading one today, enjoy! HOME & LIFESTYLE I cannot tell you how obsessed I am with this fine combination of laundry assortments. I’ve been using these products for the longest time, I wouldn’t be without my Vanish Gold, especially since school has started again and Amelie has already come home after the first day with muck all down her brand new white polo shirt. I used to use the liquid tablets for my washing but I switched to the gel as the tablets were not cleaning the clothes properly, I found the coating on the tablets just…

    Birthday Week!

What an eventful week we had last week – birthday week! Our Sunday kicked off with a huge birthday party for Amelie, she’s never had a proper party before so we did it in style. We hired a hall, booked a disco, booked our local fish & chip shop to cater for usĀ and I went to town on glo sticks, balloons, cakes and party cones. Amelie had a fantastic time with all her friends, I think we had around 26 children in total. It was so much fun but I think next year we will spend the money on a weekend away maybe, something more low key and less hectic!…
