Sail With Santa, Stuartline Cruises Exmouth

A couple of years ago we were wondering how to celebrate the festive season with the children. We usually pop to Otter Nurseries as it is such good magical fun, but we decided to give Sail With Santa a go. Sail With Santa is located down on the beautiful Marina in Exmouth, hosted by the ever popular Stuartline Cruises. We were met at the dock and given our special tickets to board the boat, all dressed up in our best Christmas attire we hopped aboard a lovely warm festive boat and set sail. The boat is obviously all kitted out with Christmas decs, snacks, drinks and Christmas tunes playing to…

    Thank Goodness For Soft Play

Soft play is essentially a padded area for your offspring to go absolutely mental in. I sit here with my black Amerciano straight from the cheap coffee machine, magazines (get me!) and just look at the utter carnage before my eyes. The screams of delight when whizzing down the death slide, the cries of pain after busting a lip prompting the staff to gather round and wipe the blood off of the said slide and the constant ‘Muuuuuummmmyyyyy, look at me!’. I have to be honest and say, my kids have been really patient with me this summer (they’ve also been total shits). Dragging them round Waitrose getting a food…

Weekend Adventures – Decluttering, Flat Whites & Sunshine

Aren’t these summer weekends full of sunshine, fun and gin just brilliant!? We are really making the most of getting out and enjoying the weather as you never know how long it is going to last. Saturday We had a mad busy week last week so were looking forward to a slow paced start to Saturday. We spent the morning decluttering the loft, listing items for sale online and being really ruthless getting rid of old toys. I do love a declutter and clean out it makes me feel somewhat organised in my mind. As the sun was shining we decided to spend the afternoon outside, we headed to Home…

    A Sunday Well Spent…

They say a Sunday well spent, brings a week of content and I sure hope that’s true. We had a lovely family Sunday eating out, cooking together, playing with vintage Lego and ending it with a big roast dinner. Sunday morning was spent at a trendy bar for breakfast. We usually go to Wetherspoons but fancied somewhere a little different so we headed to Spoken in Exmouth. The food was so delicious and excellent quality with lots of choice on the menu. The children shared American Pancakes with Nutella whilst Mr K and myself chose the Across The Pond breakfast I wasn’t expecting it to be as huge as it…

The children broke up for the Christmas holidays on Friday as did Mr K, I have them all home for 2 weeks – magic! Saturday Our first stop was the best pasty shop in the world – Moore’s Pasties, Exmouth – we picked up 2 Christmas pasties and 2 sausages rolls. We nearly went home with a hamster as we nipped into the pet shop, they had the cutest little hamster and he was climbing along his cage just willing us to take…

Date Day & Breakfast – Turtle Bay, Exeter

This weekend we had a very rare day to ourselves, we have a date day/night a few times a year – if we remember! We took full advantage of Mr K’s mum on babysitting duty, the children love going to her house and spending time with her. We headed into Exeter for a spot of shopping, first stop was Debenhams for a coffee with a view, we overlooked Exeter Cathedral it was the perfect spot for a bit of people watching. After dragging ourselves around the shops we were starving by 2pm so went to our favourite restaurant, Turtle Bay. I love everything about this place, the food is excellent,…

    Bloggers Day At Ocean, Exmouth

I was very lucky to be invited to a Bloggers Day at Ocean, Exmouth a week ago. Charlie joined me on the trip as it is a firm favourite of ours, we have enjoyed many a birthday party and soft play date at Ocean so I knew it would be a great day. If you’ve never visited Ocean before you are in for a treat, it is set right across from the long sands of Exmouth beach with stunning views of the seaside, Dawlish Warren and the edge of the marina. Ocean isn’t just a soft play for children, you can dine there, have drinks, bowl, play in the games…

Weekend Adventures – Exmouth Beach & Exeter Quay

What a cracking weekend it has been here in Devon, the sun has been shining on us and I’m happy to report that Amelie is well on the road to recovering from her illness last week. Saturday As it was such a nice day yesterday we took an impromptu trip to Exmouth beach, which is about a 5 minute drive from our house. The children were very excited at the thought of a ride on the merry-go-round which has been on Exmouth seafront for decades I can remember my mum taking my sister and me on it when we were little. After that the kiddies had an ice cream with…

    Winter Sea Air

Today was a miserable drizzly day in Exmouth and I did not want to leave the house. However, I have an active two year old who I feel, needs fresh air every day. So I decided to get the waterproofs out of the cupboard along with wellies and hats and venture to the Exmouth beach for some fresh sea air. We are super lucky to live so close to the beach and I always used to take Amelie for a stroll when she was little. I do prefer the beach during the warmer months but there’s something about being all wrapped up for a winter’s walk. As a family we…

    My Week – Chit Chat

The one thing I really love about blogging is that you are able to get everything you’ve been thinking off your chest and it is not aimed at anyone in particular. I know most people will find my chit chat boring and┬áI know it isn’t really┬árelevant whatsoever but having this window of white to type whatever you like feels liberating, a bit like therapy. Being a stay at home mum to a young child can be at times, lonely. I know I have this wonderful little person keeping me company all the time but he’s not really interested in hearing about grown up things and just general waffle that I’m…
