Sealife Weymouth #Ascarium
Sealife Weymouth has been on our “To Visit” list for ages. We’ve holidayed in Dorset each October half term ever since Amelie was a toddler. There’s just something about the Dorset coastline that really appeals and I just love the area during Autumn. It just so happened that we were in Weymouth on Halloween this year. Sealife Weymouth very kindly invited us to experience a spooky #Ascarium Halloween trail. We have been to a few Aquariums in our time, the biggest being Plymouth. But Sealife Weymouth is so much more than just tanks of fishes. It has everything to keep the children entertained no matter what the unpredictable weather is…

Sheppy’s House of Cider, Somerset
Sheppy’s House of Cider based in the beautiful countryside of Somerset is a favourite establishment of ours. You may think judging by the name, that it is not suitable for families with it being a cider house but there is so much more to explore. Sheppy’s is Somerset’s oldest cidermakers, I have sampled a fair few of their ciders, I do love a crisp dry cider on a hot summer’s day. Located within Sheppy’s is an authentic farm shop offering a range of excellent treats, local foods, a butchery, restaurant, function room with stunning views, Apple Bay Bar and a rustic café where they serve delicious cakes and the best…

Half Term – Exmouth Beach, Soft Play and Wine
Hi lovelies! How is everyone doing after the half term break? I loved having the children home all week, no rushing around anywhere and just pleasing ourselves. But, I am quite glad to have a little peace to myself without having to referee the rugrats. As I mentioned in my previous post I put zero pressure on myself to be fun mum. We went out every day whether it was over to the park, the shops, to a friends house etc. I made sure they had one really fun exhausting day out, we went to Exmouth and were there by 9.15am to go to Ocean soft play for a couple…

The Pressures of Half Term
We’ve just come through a long bank holiday weekend and it is now half term. I’m sure I’m not alone in the fact that I think I should be a children’s entertainer for the entire week? But why do I feel immense pressure during the holidays to be busy and do something exciting every day with the children. I keep forgetting the fact that my children are now of an age where we don’t have to get out of the house every single day. It is so important to me that they do get some fresh air though – it does us all the world of good – so even…

Friday Chats – Homesick, Half Term & Feeling Happy!
Happy Friday guys!! How bloody amazing has the weather been this week, it has felt like Spring has sprung. I’ve probably jinxed it now, although saying that we are due some cloudy dull days over the weekend – ugh! I was all set to publish a really personal post today about how down in the dumps I’ve been feeling and like I have kind of lost myself a little bit. I don’t know what’s happened over the last couple of days but, I have felt like this massive black cloud has been lifted and I feel so happy again. I certainly think the lighter evenings/mornings coupled with this glorious sunshine…

I Had A Little Break
Hello!! Long time no speak, I hope you are all well and had a great half term. I’ve not put my laptop on in a while to blog, I just needed a little break to refresh and with it being half term I wanted to spend time with the kiddies without the distraction (pressure) of blogging. Also, to be honest I kind of lost my enthusiasm for blogging and social media. I got caught up in people’s perfect lives, thousands of followers and felt very inadequate compared to the massively successful bloggers who I follow. It is an awful place to put yourself in and, if you aren’t into social…

Half Term Fun In The Rain – Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, Devon
Half term means one thing – rain! Isn’t it typical that it always rains during the school holidays? I wasn’t going to let it defeat me today, usually we stay in and get the crafts out but I really fancied getting out and about this morning. I rallied the children up, we popped our wellies and waterproofs on and headed to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, we haven’t been to Bicton since Easter so it was a well overdue visit. I thought it would be really fun to explore and adventure the grounds of Bicton in the rain. The children absolutely loved it, there are lots of little streams to paddle…

Halloween Activities In Devon
I realise it is only September but I love Halloween, even more so now I have children. However I’m always stuck for ideas on places to visit and activities to do with the children. My ideal Halloween would be picking our own pumpkins at a cute farm, apple bobbing, decorating the whole house inside and out and going crazy with Halloween treats – I really wished I lived in America as they go bananas over Halloween! I’m going to try and cram in as many festive activities as possible this year and I have complied a small list of spooky attractions to visit during October in Devon. World of Country Life, Exmouth – 23rd to…

Half Term Adventures in Devon
Half term has been and gone and whilst I’m sad it is over so quickly I’m also glad to have a wee bit of routine back in our lives. I was getting far too used to lazy mornings and days out, but it will soon be the Easter holidays before we know it. Our week was full of snow flurries, visits to Exmouth beach where Charlie fell in the biggest puddle on the sand face first and proceeded to scream, we celebrated Valentine’s Day, I took the children to World of Country Life (I’m doing a whole blog post on this), we caught up with friends and we had a…
