Shifting The Holiday Weight & What I Ate

    August 14, 2017 /

First off I want to start by saying I’m not an expert and don’t pretend to be, I’m sharing my experience and what has worked for me. So I went to Majorca in May, it was an all inclusive holiday. Everyone puts on holiday weight and I certainly wasn’t restricting my diet whilst away, after all it was a holiday and I wanted to enjoy myself – and I did. I did try to make healthy choices throughout my time away but as the week went on I was sneaking in a dessert and extra snacks that I wouldn’t normally have. By the second week of my holiday I was…

    Holiday Favourites

    June 9, 2017 /

Here are my holiday favourites that were used every day in Majorca. I wish I was still on a sun drenched beach sipping a pina colada and not wearing jeans, boots and a winter coat! Travel Detergent This Superdrug travel detergent was amazing, it worked so well on the children’s sandy swimwear, soiled swim shorts and underwear. You can use it in warm or cold water. Definitely a must have for any holiday. Squash If you have a fussy child like I do who will not drink water then I totally recommend this Robinsons Sqaush’d. It is a great size to carry around in your bag, so easy to use as…

    What’s In My Beach Bag?

    June 5, 2017 /

So, what’s in my beach bag… Holidaying as a family of 4 I need a massive beach bag to ferry around everyone’s bits and bobs. This Joules beach bag is perfect for such a job and I was really surprised at how big it is. It isn’t the most practical colour, however, having been used for 11 days at the beach and by the pool I’m happy to say it is still white and not marked. So the first essential for my beach bag is a bucket and spade for the little ones, we bought these on holiday for around a pound and they went everywhere with us. My sunglasses…

    I Need Routine

    June 2, 2017 /

Holidays are wonderful, you look forward to the build up buying new clothes, chatting about what you are going to do whilst abroad and just generally getting excited about your 10 days in the sunshine together. Then you come home and you’re tired from travelling, the kids are beyond exhausted and have contracted some sort of bug from the air conditioning on the plane – oh joy! This is us now, we had a brilliant 10 days away in Majorca but had a terrible flight home due to the lightening storm and arrived back at 4.30am after leaving our hotel at 11pm – we had to vacate our hotel room…

    Post Holiday Meals & Workouts

    May 31, 2017 /

Being on an all inclusive holiday my eating habits were so messed up, I had a cooked breakfast (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs & toast) every morning, no snacks, lunch was a weird combination of cooked foods and salad along with a sweet treat and dinner was a mish mash followed by another sweet temptation. On top of the food I consumed lots of fizzy drinks and wine – not much but certainly more than what I normally drink. Safe to say I feel sluggish, so I’m working on getting back on track as I want to feel healthy again. But, as I’ve not got to prance around in a bikini…

    Hand Luggage Snacks for Children

    May 18, 2017 /

I’ve not had to pack a hand luggage bag in 4 years so had to check the restrictions with the airline we are flying with. Anyone with children will know they eat ALL THE TIME! Even when they aren’t particularly hungry they seem to snack day and night, my children are little monkeys when it comes to snacking, so I’m being prepared for every situation possible. The snacks I’ve packed are not the healthiest so please don’t judge me, I’m preparing for negotiation, bribery and just five minutes peace. When they eat, they are occupied which is handy when flying. Here we have some dried snacks for Mr K and myself…

    Safety Abroad – Kid-ID Wristbands

    May 15, 2017 /

As we all know I’m an over anxious, worry wart of a mother however I am not alone in this and that brings me some comfort that I’m not a crazy person. I’ve talked about safety when out and about with children in terms of ID wristbands before and as we are going away soon I thought I would order some new ones. I wanted to try out waterproof bands that the children could wear all day whilst we are at the hotel, at the beach, waterpark etc. A company called Kid-ID followed me on Twitter, I had a look at their page and also their website and was really impressed with their…

Boy Holiday Clothing Haul – Next, H&M, Primark

    May 11, 2017 /

My most favourite thing about booking a holiday apart from the excitement of having all the family together relaxing (or not, if you have energetic children), is buying holiday clothes! Any excuse to shop and I’m there, so here are a few items I bought for Charlie for our holiday abroad. This little lot is just to top up his summer wardrobe, I always go to Next as their clothes are great value and really wash well. NEXT How cute are these t-shirts, they are a 3 pack and I’m so pleased that each one is different as you usually get one that is really nice with a design on…

Butlins, Minehead – Just For Tots Week

    April 26, 2017 /

We go on a Sun £9.50 holiday every year, some years we have two holidays and others just the once during Autumn. We decided to visit Butlins in Minehead last year for Charlie’s second birthday as we had exhausted all of the “good” Havens in Weymouth and Cornwall and fancied something different. We were very lucky to get the Just for Tots week during April 2016. The Just for Tots week, is as you would expect a week dedicated to the little ones in your family. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew it would be entertaining as there is so much to do in and around Butlins.…
