Bringing In Spring – Interiors Wishlist
Spring is upon us and I love nothing better than swapping out winter accessories in my home for bright, light soft furnishings. I have put together a list of items I intend on buying this Spring to spruce up my house. FRESH FLOWERS This is a given. Gone are the vases of dark autumnal colours and here are arrangements of yellow, pinks, purples and lots of green. I love having fresh flowers in the house especially around Spring time. It feels like we can emerge from hibernation and bloom. Flowers really uplift me and make a room so light and inviting. CANDLES During the winter I tend to burn a…

What I’ve Been Eating, Fitness/Diet Update – January 2018
It is the New Year and hopefully the Christmas bloat has vanished for you, I didn’t over eat too much during December but I certainly ate what I fancied. I have been using My Fitness Pal for about 3 months now so generally track all of my meals and snacks each day. I find it really works for me and I like to look back to see what I’ve eaten, I’m very good 6 days a week and have a “cheat” day at the weekend. So far this has worked for me and I’ve lost 11lbs since October, the weight has come off slowly and I haven’t deprived myself. During…

December Favourites – Christmas Presents
December was full of festive cheer and tons of gifts, I’ve shared some of the children’s favourite Christmas present they received. BARBIE NEWBORN PUPS This was the only toy Amelie asked for this Christmas. She is obsessed with Barbies and has played with the Barbie Newborn Pups ever since she opened it. I didn’t have high hopes for this toy I thought it would be a bit naff but it is really well made and is good value for money, if you have a Barbie fan this is a great addition to the collection. IMAGINEXT DC SUPER FRIENDS BATMAN COMMAND CENTRE As soon as I saw this on an advert…

What My 3 Year Old Eats
I’ve been having a real issue with Charlie’s eating habits for around a month or so, he has become really fussy. Something which I didn’t think would happen as he has always been a really good eater, I think that Amelie’s fussiness rubs off on him and if she doesn’t like something the whole world knows about it. Here is a typical day’s food – when he isn’t at preschool. Breakfast Today’s breakfast is multigrain hoops with milk and a bowl of raspberries and strawberries. Charlie likes choosing his own fruit and we often chat about the colours and shapes of the fruit. Snack We went to Bicton Park and after…

Halloween Activities In Devon
I realise it is only September but I love Halloween, even more so now I have children. However I’m always stuck for ideas on places to visit and activities to do with the children. My ideal Halloween would be picking our own pumpkins at a cute farm, apple bobbing, decorating the whole house inside and out and going crazy with Halloween treats – I really wished I lived in America as they go bananas over Halloween! I’m going to try and cram in as many festive activities as possible this year and I have complied a small list of spooky attractions to visit during October in Devon. World of Country Life, Exmouth – 23rd to…

On The Go Snacks For Kids
I thought I would share with you my favourite on the go snacks for kids that I take with me on days out and trips in the car. I do take drinks with me but I make these fresh before we venture out. Charlie is a huge fan of Soreen and these little lunchbox sized bars are really yummy. I know Charlie is not a baby weaning any more but he loves a fruit pouch, I really don’t like the children eating whilst I’m driving as I worry they will choke, but sometimes they are hungry so I know I’m safe with giving him a fruit pouch to suck on.…

Banana Bread Recipe
I’ve never made banana bread before and to be honest every time I bake the end result ends up burnt and tasting like rubbish. We had some ripe bananas that were just left in the fruit bowl, you know the ones that are a bit brown that no-one really wants to eat. So I decided to take the plunge and bake some tasty banana bread, I’m pleased to say it turned out super – here’s the recipe. Ingredients 3 Bananas 1 Egg 1/2 Cup Soft Brown Sugar 1 Tsp Vanilla Essence 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil (melted) 100g Chocolate Chips (optional) 1 Tsp Baking Powder 1 1/2 Cups Flour (Plain) …
