    What I’ve Been Eating, Fitness/Diet Update – January 2018

It is the New Year and hopefully the Christmas bloat has vanished for you, I didn’t over eat too much during December but I certainly ate what I fancied. I have been using My Fitness Pal for about 3 months now so generally track all of my meals and snacks each day. I find it really works for me and I like to look back to see what I’ve eaten, I’m very good 6 days a week and have a “cheat” day at the weekend. So far this has worked for me and I’ve lost 11lbs since October, the weight has come off slowly and I haven’t deprived myself. During…

Date Day & Breakfast – Turtle Bay, Exeter

This weekend we had a very rare day to ourselves, we have a date day/night a few times a year – if we remember! We took full advantage of Mr K’s mum on babysitting duty, the children love going to her house and spending time with her. We headed into Exeter for a spot of shopping, first stop was Debenhams for a coffee with a view, we overlooked Exeter Cathedral it was the perfect spot for a bit of people watching. After dragging ourselves around the shops we were starving by 2pm so went to our favourite restaurant, Turtle Bay. I love everything about this place, the food is excellent,…

What My 3 Year Old Eats

I’ve been having a real issue with Charlie’s eating habits for around a month or so, he has become really fussy. Something which I didn’t think would happen as he has always been a really good eater, I think that Amelie’s fussiness rubs off on him and if she doesn’t like something the whole world knows about it. Here is a typical day’s food – when he isn’t at preschool. Breakfast Today’s breakfast is multigrain hoops with milk and a bowl of raspberries and strawberries. Charlie likes choosing his own fruit and we often chat about the colours and shapes of the fruit. Snack We went to Bicton Park and after…

    Post Holiday Meals & Workouts

Being on an all inclusive holiday my eating habits were so messed up, I had a cooked breakfast (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs & toast) every morning, no snacks, lunch was a weird combination of cooked foods and salad along with a sweet treat and dinner was a mish mash followed by another sweet temptation. On top of the food I consumed lots of fizzy drinks and wine – not much but certainly more than what I normally drink. Safe to say I feel sluggish, so I’m working on getting back on track as I want to feel healthy again. But, as I’ve not got to prance around in a bikini…

    Meals & Workouts

This week is going to be mainly a protein based week with meals as we are nearing our holiday and I’ve been sticking to reduced carbs for the last week. I’ve also upped my water intake and have gone cold turkey by cutting out caffeine – I have had a monster headache from this but surprisingly have felt less tired.   MEALS Monday: Spicy Turkey Burgers (no bun) & Salad Tuesday: Grilled Chicken, Homemade Chips & Salad Wednesday: Chilli (no rice) (Lean in 15) & Veg Thursday: Pork  Chop & Salad Friday: Spicy Chicken Breast & Salad   WORKOUTS Monday: Legs & Cardio (Kayla Itsines, Week 7) Tuesday: Kettle Bells (Jillian Michaels)…

    Gousto Box – My Thoughts

I am a tad late jumping on the food box bandwagon but I have always wanted to give one a go. There are a few out there and I wasn’t sure how I would get on with it. If you asked me just over a year ago to prepare a meal completely from scratch I would have laughed and dismissed it, however since I started cooking from The Body Coach book I have really enjoyed making our meals from scratch. We very rarely have processed or pre-packaged foods at home any more and we feel better for it. I placed an order with Debenhams for a couple of new bras (stay…

    Meals & Workouts

It is officially the countdown until my holiday I have 6 weeks to stay healthy and prepare for unlimited meals, ice creams, red wine and cocktails. I’m certainly going to relax and make the most of being on an all inclusive holiday, I will be filling my face and giving the workouts a miss for nearly 2 weeks – yipppeeee! In the meantime, here are my meals for the week and also the workouts I will be undertaking. As it is the Easter holidays I can fit more workouts in because we don’t have to rush out anywhere which is great as I like to work out first…

What Mummy Eats In A Day

Just a little insight into what I eat in a day, I don’t eat like this every day. I’m under the weather at the moment with a silly head cold so I’m not particularly hungry and when I am, I quite like picky food. Breakfast This granola is by far the best I’ve tasted, it is organic and has yummy yogurt chunks in it with strawberries and blueberries. It tastes amazing with natural yogurt mixed into it. Charlie had the same for breakfast today, he is also a fan of this combo. Lunch Today I had an early lunch at 11am as I was going to meet a friend for…
