What My 5 Year Old Eats In A Day

    June 12, 2019 /

Here is what my 5 year old eats on a normal school day. Charlie has quite a healthy balanced diet, he does have a very sweet tooth but more often than not he chooses the healthy option. BREAKFAST I like to start Charlie’s day off with a good hearty breakfast as he tends to wake up between 5am – 6am at the moment. He has always been an early riser as was/am I, so he gets hungry quite a lot. Here he is having a big bowl of porridge with milk, a drizzle of Sweet Freedom Fruit Syrup and a small bowl of cashews/raisins. It looks like a big portion…

    Lactose & Dairy Free Foods

    April 1, 2019 /

Being lactose intolerant has been a bit of a blow for me to be honest. I’ve always had a sensitive tummy and there was talk of IBS years ago, things got better and my diet changed dramatically. However, over the past 4 months I’ve been suffering with very bad bouts of tummy aches, sickness, bloating and upset. I’m still very much on my journey with finding foods that do not contain lactose, I have managed to seek out some favourites and thought I would share them with you. CANDY KITTENS (Vegan) I found these little treats in Waitrose. I do have a sweet tooth and sometimes just fancy a jelly…

    Easy Homemade Turkey Burger Recipe

    February 21, 2018 /

I really enjoy cooking from scratch, some may think it takes too long but personally I love to know what has gone into my food and make sure there are no hidden extras in there. I used to buy my turkey burgers from Asda, the sweet chilli ones are so good but as I have changed supermarkets – I now shop in Aldi – I have no need to buy them. Making turkey burgers is so quick and easy I prepared this recipe whilst my children were eating dinner so time really isn’t an excuse not to give them a bash as they literally take 10 minutes if that to…

    Organix Punk’D Oaty Bars

    August 16, 2017 /

Whether it be taking a trip to the supermarket 2 minutes up the road, a day trip somewhere or just indoors, my children are always starving. Going out of the house for me, is like packing to feed the 5000, there’s drinks, fruit, sandwiches, crackers and extra supplies just in case – I’m prepared for every scenario possible. However, I do try to make healthy choices when it comes to snacks as both Amelie and Charlie love to snack but I do not want to be filling their tummies with sugary treats all the time. We have been fans of Organix products ever since the weaning days, I remember giving…

    Hand Luggage Snacks for Children

    May 18, 2017 /

I’ve not had to pack a hand luggage bag in 4 years so had to check the restrictions with the airline we are flying with. Anyone with children will know they eat ALL THE TIME! Even when they aren’t particularly hungry they seem to snack day and night, my children are little monkeys when it comes to snacking, so I’m being prepared for every situation possible. The snacks I’ve packed are not the healthiest so please don’t judge me, I’m preparing for negotiation, bribery and just five minutes peace. When they eat, they are occupied which is handy when flying. Here we have some dried snacks for Mr K and myself…

Cacao & Walnut Pancakes for All The Family

    April 27, 2017 /

We love pancakes in our house and this recipe has won everyone over. The pancakes are light, fluffy, gooey and delicious, they can be eaten as a snack, for breakfast, as a treat or an after dinner pudding. The best thing is the children think they are eating naughty chocolate pancakes, when cooking they smell like chocolate cake – yum! I like quick and fuss free recipes so am pleased to say you only need a few ingredients to whip up a substantial batch of pancakes. I have teamed up with Indigo Herbs who sent me some amazing ingredients to cook with. The first ingredient is Organic Cacao Powder which…
