What I’ve Been Wearing: Lockdown Edition
I love these What I’ve Been Wearing posts but haven’t actually published one in months. Just a little side note, this post was written in June during the lockdown days. All of the outfits can be adapted for any season just by adding tights and a chunky knit. OUTFITS The trusty old Primark pinafore and vest top that was on repeat last summer, a favourite outfit of mine and super cute with flip flops and a straw bag. I wear this pinafore during the Autumn/Winter months with either a striped long sleeve top or roll neck, boots and tights – perfect for those cold crisp days and fab for layering.…

End of Summer Circus Party with Luxella Sleepovers
Sleepovers have come a long way since I was a child. Whenever I was invited to a sleepover it usually involved taking my very old and very thing nylon brown sleeping bag, a change of clothes and loads of snacks for those midnight feasts. We would camp out on my friend’s front room floor with a cushion from their sofa, watch 80s movies, drink copious amounts of cherryade, stomp crisps into the carpet and eventually fall asleep. Nowadays there is a whole new platform for the Sleepover, something a little more comfortable and luxurious. As the summer holidays were coming to an end I wanted to celebrate and give the…

Appreciating Our Time Again
The summer holidays are over and my children are back to school today. I was a mixed bag of emotions but managed to hold it together. I mentioned in a previous post that last year the summer holidays were utterly wonderful and that’s not a lie, yes it came with the usual stresses but I really enjoyed my time with the children. This summer has been extremely challenging and I’ve not really enjoyed every second of it, that is quite hard to admit out loud as I feel like others will judge. Both children are obviously a year older and with that comes different phases for them. Week one of…

How-To: Homemade Iced Almond Milk Latte – Costa Coffee Style
Summer is here so bring on the iced coffee. In all honesty I’ve never liked cold ice coffee before but having tried it a couple of times this year I’m obsessed especially with the Costa Salted Caramel one – OMG! But as with all good sweet things the calories and cost really add up, they are a treat for me but I would certainly indulge in one a day if I could get away with it. So I decided to make my own at home, less calories, no added sugar/syrup and a fraction of the cost. Here’s how I made it… I boiled the kettle, popped two teaspoons of my…

Protecting Children’s Eyes With Cébé Junior Collection Sunglasses
When it comes to protecting children during the summer months we go crazy slathering on the factor 50+ but often forget about protecting our children’s delicate eyes. From an early age both of my kiddies wore sunglasses, not the novelty ones as they have no protection whatsoever. Cébé are a superb brand with a fantastic range of sunglasses for babies and children. They protect from UVA/UVB rays and also harmful blue light. We were asked if we wanted to try out a couple of pairs of sunglasses from the new Cébé Junior Collection range, Amelie received the very trendy Matt Black Pink 1500 Grey PC Blue Light Pink Flash Mirror…

Summer Reading List
When I was younger I used to read books all the time. I would go up to my bedroom (which I shared with my sister) lay on bed and escape to a world of imagination. I would read anything from pony stories to “horror” who remembers Goosebumps books? I was obsessed with these books and would get so excited to finish a book and move onto another. Even when I didn’t have children I found time to read, I love getting stuck into a good book, you can totally escape real life and imagine what the characters look like and how they would react to situations. Now, I’m gonna say…

Summer Daze
Summer has arrived with a bang hasn’t it!? I can’t believe how lucky we have been to bask in the boiling hot sunshine over the last few days. We have made the most of the weather, dining outside, playing in paddling pools, going on walks and out for brunch, it certainly puts us in a good mood. Trouble is, my wardrobe is not equipped for tropical climates so I’m kind of rotating dresses and digging out “holiday” clothes, you know the type of outfit you’d wear abroad where no-one knows you – I’m embracing it though. I thought I’d share some photos of our summer adventures so far, this post…

So Ready…
It feels like the children have been home for years but at the same time I cannot believe how quickly the summer holidays have whizzed by. We have crammed a lot into the last 6 weeks, August hasn’t been the best month weather wise but we made the most of it with days out, lazy mornings, late nights, being busy in the garden, visiting the library and playing in the rain. But, the time has come to start a proper bedtime routine again, think about buying uniform (I still need to do this, oops!) and getting back into some sort of routine. Everyone is ready to return to normality, my…

Homemade Chicken Kebabs
Lets face it summer in Devon has well and truly packed its bags and buggered off, I had dreams of topping up my tan, the kids playing in the paddling pool and Mr K cooking something scrummy on the BBQ – the reality is somewhat different. However, I wasn’t going to let a little bit of rain dampen my BBQ dream so I rustled up some homemade chicken kebabs for us to enjoy indoors. The Recipe 4 Chicken Breasts 1 Pepper 1 Onion Mushrooms 170g Greek Yogurt 2 tsp Smoked Paprika (to taste) 6 Kebab Sticks Method Mix the Greek yogurt and paprika in a bowl and set aside. Cut…
