Parkdean Newquay Adventures

For the past few years we have booked a mini break with The Sun holidays, you know the cheapy £9.50 ones? This year we went to Butlins (Just Tots Week) in April which was fantastic for the children. We were going to book a holiday abroad but due to job changes etc this didn’t happen, so, we decided to book a weekend away in October at Parkdean Newquay.

Truthfully, we were not expecting anything good to come from this weekend away – accommodation/park facilities wise.  We have always stayed at a Haven holiday park and we are all familiar with the surroundings, the entertainment and the caravans. Although, we  had an awful experience last September with Haven, the caravan was vile!

Anyway, I was expecting the worst as I had never really looked  into a Parkdean holiday. To say I was wrong is an understatement. When we arrived and pulled up to Reception, I jumped out of the car to check in, thinking I would be standing in line for ages waiting for our caravan keys. To my surprise there were no queues and it was super quick to collect the keys. The staff were so friendly and I was super excited as it was Halloween weekend so the whole park was decked out with fantastic Halloween decorations. There was even a box of sweets for the children to take upon check in.

We drove off to locate our caravan, when we arrived we were super impressed. We have never stayed in such a modern, clean (to my standards, although I packed the Flash Bleach) caravan. The children were very excited and so was I.

Right outside our caravan there was a play park for the children, the surroundings reminded us of Centre Parcs. Everywhere you looked there were trees and woodland, it was so nice and I will be recommending it to everyone.

The entertainment was also fun, Amelie counted down the hours until the disco which didn’t disappoint. We didn’t eat at the park we travelled into Newquay for lunch and had a snack for dinner. We love Newquay, the beaches and views are amazing especially from up high at our favourite pub, The Fort. We visited Padstow during our break which was beautiful, unfortunately Charlie slept the whole time we were there – typical! Amelie enjoyed a Mr Whippy, carefully dodging greedy seagulls and Mummy and Daddy took in the views – we sound so old!

We took a little drive up to the Headland Hotel to show Amelie where the movie Witches was filmed. I have always loved the hotel and the film so it was super spooky to visit near Halloween.

The day before we were due to leave, the entertainment team were holding a Tots Pumpkin Carving session which we attended. We were again, really impressed with what they laid on. Pumpkins for the children to carve and take home, certificates and crafting materials.

Here are a few photos from our trip, we will most certainly be returning to Parkdean Newquay next year. They have a huge outdoor swimming pool with slides that look fun for the summer.
