Ever since the children were born I have wanted to visit an authentic pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins and take cheesy photos. I’ve searched high and low to find one in Devon but have never been successful… until now.
I first heard about Lifton Farm Shop when I read a post by a fellow Devon blogger, Gina over at Gypsy Soul. When I read all about Pumpkin Fest I couldn’t wait to plan our visit, I did have to wait nearly a year though, ha ha.
We decided to visit Lifton Farm Shop last weekend, at the start of Pumpkin Fest. When we arrived everyone was really excited to see a whole field of pumpkins, there were literally hundreds of pumpkins dotted around the farm shop. I was a bit disappointed that the tractor ride was cancelled as I think that would have made the experience even more enjoyable but understand the safety concerns due to Storm Brian. We did find a huge hay bale to clamber up and take some gorgeous photos of the children, they ended up with hay everywhere but had so much fun.
We made our way into the marquee to warm up and get some lunch. Inside was an array of tables that were set out for customers to carve and decorate their chosen pumpkins. The atmosphere was so festive and really got us in the mood for autumn and Halloween, I loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we really did have a great time, there was a bouncy castle and lots of wheel barrows to carry your pumpkins in.
Here are a few pics of our time picking our own pumpkins.
If you are looking for a fun activity to do with the whole family this half term, I would recommend visiting the pumpkin patch.
